‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Amy Slaton Is Engaged to Brian Lovvorn Following 5-Month Romance

TLC’s Amy Slaton is set to walk down the aisle.

The 1000-lb Sisters star, 37, confirmed to People on Tuesday, May 13, that she will marry boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvom following his proposal that aired on an episode of the show earlier that day.

The outlet shared further details into the pair’s special moment, which took place “during winter 2024” inside a haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky, after five months of dating.

“Originally, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship,” Amy told the outlet. “I was shocked at first, and I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”

Amy Slaton’s newfound love with boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvorn is so strong that the pair have already discussed the possibility of becoming parents. During the Tuesday, April 15, episode of 1,000-Lb. Amy, who revealed that she was discussing having children with Lovvorn in the April 15 episode of 1000-lb Sisters, noted that her sister, Tammy Slaton, expressed concern over the rapid pace of Amy’s engagement. “She [Tammy] really felt like we were rushing it,” Amy admitted to the outlet.

Amy is already mother to two children, sons Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, whom she shares with ex-husband Michael Halterman. Us Weekly confirmed that the pair split in March 2023 after four years of marriage.

Of her fresh start, Amy shared that her engagement ring is “gothic” and set with two skeleton hands forming a heart rather than a traditional diamond. “He said something about, ‘My love for you is crazy, it’s scary how compatible we are,’ Amy recalled of Lovvorn’s proposal. “Just like [how] our matching tattoos say, ‘Scary love.’”

Amy added that she doesn’t expect her engagement to last very long as she and Lovvorn are planning a “small, quaint” wedding that she hopes coincides with Halloween. “[We are] still figuring out the wedding party situation … need to find a venue, dress, flowers, pretty much everything,” Amy explained.

While many of the details are yet to be confirmed, Amy revealed one specific plan. “My vision for the dress is white with black lines, a corset with a princess poof,” she said. “Brian wants me to have pink hair for the wedding, and I want to have a Victorian style updo.”

In November 2024, Amy was the subject of pregnancy rumors, drawing Tammy, 38, to publicly stick up for her sibling. “I wish people would stop spreading rumors,” Tammy said in a November 4 TikTok video. “But I’m here to tell you, Amy is not pregnant.”
