Netflix has officially ushered in spring by offering several hit shows that have dominated pop culture. Adolescence, the British show about a teenage killer in suburban England, has already become one of Netflix’s most popular series ever, generating multiple headlines around the world (and even political discussion in Great Britain’s Parliament). May promises even more […]

‘Bet’ (2025)

The best way to describe Bet is that it’s like a live-action anime series. The show is based on the manga Kakegurui by Homura Kawamoto and Tôru Naomura, although certain changes have been made in the American adaptation. Miku Martineau stars as Yumeko, a teenage girl with a gift for gambling that has gotten her kicked out of her previous schools.

Yumeko soon finds herself enrolled in St. Dominic’s, a school where gambling is a way of life for the students. Most kids there are bad people, and Yumeko is doing her best to fit right in. She may seem unhinged or insane to her fellow students, but Yumeko also has a hidden agenda. She didn’t come to St. Dominic’s by accident, she’s there for revenge. And she’s very eager to deal out some payback to the people who hurt her.

‘All American’ (2018 – Present)

All American has been a bigger hit on Netflix than it is on The CW, but it’s a very different show in its seventh season, thanks to the departure of core characters Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Olivia (Samantha Logan) after they got married and moved away in the season 6 finale. There are still a handful of returning cast members, including Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling), who has grown up to be an assistant football coach for Crenshaw High. However, his position may be tenuous given his tension with the head coach, Bobby Shepard (Gilbert Glenn Brown).

Over at Beverly Hills High, Cassius Jeremy (Osy Ikhile) is introduced as the new head coach, and he’s got his son, Kingston “KJ” Jeremy (Nathaniel McIntyre), in mind to play quarterback. KJ also finds a new rival on and off the field with Khalil Edwards (Antonio J. Bell). They both like the same girl, Amina Simms (Alexis Chikaeze), and they really don’t like each other at all. As KJ and Khalil’s animosity heats up, they may not wait to settle their issues on the field.

‘Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story’ (2025)

If anyone knows where their bodies are buried, it’s Fred and Rose West. Netflix’s new true crime documentary miniseries, Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, drops viewers into this story near its end. In 1994, police searched the West family home and dug up the patio looking for a body. Through police recordings, Fred confessed to murdering his daughter, Heather, but he was intentionally vague about how many people he killed.

The grand scope of Fred West’s crimes is staggering, but Rose West isn’t an innocent bystander. Serious accusations are made against the couple, and their shared depravity left multiple victims in their wake. It’s a story that goes back decades, and it includes the account of the Wests’ surviving children, who were terrorized by their parents as well.
