A man who stands at 7 feet, 2 inches tall is sharing an inside look at what his seating situation usually looks like while traveling on a plane in order for him to be comfortable.
Olivier Richters, 35, who is known as The Dutch Giant, shared a video on Instagram of himself boarding a plane and heading towards a seat at the back of the aircraft. While making his way to his seat, Richters had to hunch over so to not bump his head on the plane’s ceiling, in addition to ducking his head to avoid an exit sign.
“Look at this. If I fly with Corendon, this is my seat,” the actor and bodybuilder told the camera as he took his place in a seat by the emergency exit and stretched out his legs.
“Oh, wow,” someone can be heard exclaiming in the background.
The seat did not have another seat directly in front of it, while the strip of fabric on the headrest indicated it was a “comfort seat,” per Corendon Airlines.
“This is the only way I can fly being 7’2″ or 2.18M Thanks to @corendon.nl 💪🏼 #thedutchgiant,” Richters captioned the April 9 post, tagging Dutch airline Corendon Airlines.
The star’s 884,000 Instagram followers were quick to flood the comments section with questions, with one asking, “I’m [6 foot, 9 inches], is this place also available or only on special flights?”
“@gduerink at @corendonairlines there are always 2 seats like this for everyone,” Richters replied.

A second asked, “Exit row! Or private jet?”
“Exit row,” confirmed Richters, who has starred in The King’s Man, Amazon Prime series Reacher and played Ursa Major in 2021’s Black Widow.
Richters’ Instagram profile claims he is the “tallest actor and bodybuilder” in the world.
His video comes after a passenger claimed a 6-foot-5-inch-tall flyer was moved to the exit row of a plane after repeatedly shoving the seat in front of him while trying to get comfortable.
The traveler, who was flying from Palm Beach, Fla., to Atlanta, Ga., wrote about the moment on Reddit back in December. The Reddit user said the tall passenger was originally in an aisle seat and had “sandwiched his legs” and pressed his knees into the occupied seat in front of him — a seat he noted was not even reclined.

“He proceeds to push the back of the seat forward with his hands,” the poster, who goes by the name REAXIONMedia, wrote. “He does similar adjustments before we take off at least 4-5 more times, just constantly shoving the seat back of the other seat forward.”
The passenger in front was becoming visibly irate according to the user, but thankfully a flight attendant noticed the situation before things became too heated and moved the tall passenger to the much wider emergency exit row.
