A 73-year-old woman is sharing how she found confidence and a new sense of self — decades after she thought that part of her life had passed.
Caroline, who works as an escort, spoke candidly about her journey during a recent appearance on the Tea at Four Podcast, revealing that she didn’t begin exploring her sexuality until her late 50s after spending 40 years celibate.
“I’m a 73-year-old escort,” she said during the interview. “I didn’t start acknowledging that people found me sexy until I joined a dating site.”
According to Caroline, she abstained from sex from age 17 to 57 after becoming a "born-again Christian," explaining that her church emphasized no sex outside of marriage. During that time, she said, she also didn’t feel particularly confident or connected to her sexuality.
“I didn’t feel sexy,” she recalled.

That began to change when she started using dating sites in her late 50s — an experience she described as both surprising and eye-opening. “It sparked a little interest,” she said, noting that receiving attention from others helped shift how she saw herself.
From there, Caroline said she began exploring relationships and eventually entered the world of escorting in 2017, initially as a way to make extra income while juggling multiple jobs.
“I wasn’t earning enough to pay the mortgage,” she explained. “So I thought, I’ve got to look into this.”
But what started as a financial decision soon became something more meaningful. “It’s not purely sex,” Caroline said of her work, adding that it often involves companionship, such as going out for meals, attending events or even traveling with clients. “It’s so much more.”
Over time, she said, the experience helped her build a level of confidence she had never felt before. “Now I feel even more sexy,” she said. “Be who you are… and if people don’t like it, they can [move on].”
Caroline also spoke about overcoming mental health challenges earlier in her life, sharing that therapy played a major role in helping her move forward. “I have not been depressed since,” she said, describing the experience as transformative.
