Tim Malcolm was “racking” his brain to figure out which 90 Day Fiancé stars were joining 90 Day: Hunt for Love — but his ex Jeniffer Tarazona wasn’t on his wish list.
“Never in a million years [would I have guessed her]. She didn’t even pop into my mind,” Tim, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly of Jeniffer, 30, while promoting TLC’s new reality show.
Tim recalled the first night he saw his ex-girlfriend in Tulum, Mexico, revealing he saw her tattoo first. “My eyes are bad, so I was like, ‘That tattoo looks familiar,’ and it was three seconds later, the mask came off and I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’” he remembered.
Tim confessed that Jeniffer’s arrival “instantly changed” his mood, revealing that she’s his “only ex I can’t pick up the phone and have a cordial conversation with.”
He teased, “The last time we saw each other, things didn’t go so well. You see as it kind of plays out on the show, a little bit of tension.”
Tim and Jeniffer’s love story was documented on season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The pair met online in 2019 on a website dedicated to finding love with Colombian women.
On the show, Tim traveled from North Carolina to Colombia to meet Jeniffer in person. They didn’t get engaged during his stay, but Tim and Jeniffer continued to date for some time before calling it quits later that year.

Tim claimed during a 2020 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined that following their Before the 90 Days finale, he and Jeniffer were “planning to get her a visa, but it was very expensive.”
He revealed he needed “some time” to get things squared away, but it didn’t end up working out. Tim also alleged that Jeniffer had issues with his gun business, claiming she told him he cared “more” about the business than her.
“That started a series of arguments,” Tim explained during the 2020 Self-Quarantined episode. “She didn’t want to come anymore, and we stopped talking. We were done.”
Tim told Us earlier this month that he hadn’t seen Jeniffer in six years before they were pushed together on 90 Day: Hunt for Love.
“It was good to see [her],” he said, joking that “other than the hate and disdain she has for me” they had a few good conversations about her life and daughter from a past relationship. “It was awkward, but we made it work,” Tim confessed.
What made the encounter even more uncomfortable was seeing Jeniffer form a connection with 90 Day star Rob Warne.
“It was weird at first because I think Rob didn’t want to talk to me about it [because of] bro code. And I was like, ‘Dude, I’ve had two or three girlfriends pass that, so you’re good,’” Tim told Us. “So I actually was a big supporter of them. I thought they would be a good couple.”
When it comes to his own romance journey, Tim said “you got to watch” to see whether he leaves Mexico in a relationship.
“Regardless of if you found your soulmate or not, you definitely learned a lot,” he shared. “They had coaches there and [we] made some friends, so it was an overall great experience.”
90 Date: Hunt for Love premieres on TLC Monday, May 26, at 8 p.m. ET. The Hunt for Love: Between the Sheets after show airs following every new episode.
