They say you want what you can’t have, and for me, that’s always been smaller breasts.
I’m well-endowed, as my mother says, and I’ve hated, or even despised, my large chest. And not in a I can learn to live with it way, as I’ve seriously considered breast reduction surgery. Of course, that’s a massive decision — one bigger than my bust size — so I wanted to shop around before anything was final.
Fortunately, that led me to this Invisible Lift Full-Coverage Minimizer Bra from Victoria’s Secret of all places, a store I hadn’t shopped at since my PINK yoga pants-wearing days. The bra turned out to be a literal angel in disguise, plus, it’s less than $60.

When I first received the Body by Victoria Minimizer Bra, I was gobsmacked by how lightweight it is. Even with the underwire, the unlined cups feel as soft and smooth as my go-to bralettes, and yet it’s only just a hair heavier. In fact, I have never put on an underwire bra that feels as thin and lifting as this one!
The coverage is also great with little to no spillage, a recurring problem that prevents me from wearing any type of low-scooping demi bra, while the fit itself is more comfortable than any of the underwire bras I’ve acquired in the last few years.
Most importantly, the bra actually makes my chest look smaller. I think it has to do with the trademarked Lycra pattern, which is enmeshed into the fabric and is designed “to smooth, shape, and support without added bulk,” according to the brand.

I didn’t exactly measure my results — the brand claims it reduces your size by up to 1 inch — but I did notice that my chest looked noticeably flatter and more compressed under my T-shirts. I even gave myself a once-over in the mirror and let out an audible “wow,” which I think says a lot for a girl who’s returned at least three bras over the past two years.
Whenever I have the bra on, I feel confident in my clothes for once, and I don’t hate the way tops look on my body. And that in itself is priceless, so I’d gladly pay $55 for this bra over and over again.
My only caveat? Carefully consider what size you want to get. I’ve been wearing a 36DD for as long as I can remember, but I decided to plug in my measurements to see what the brand recommended. I was shocked when it suggested a 36D instead, but I didn’t contest. But in the end, it was a little small, though not enough to warrant a return.
