Luke Parker got the villain edit on season 15 of The Bachelorette after slut-shaming Hannah Brown — but he still stands by their controversial goodbye.
“To be completely honest, I thought I handled and navigated that conversation perfectly,” Luke P., 31, said during the Wednesday, June 18, episode of the “Almost Famous” podcast.
He claimed, “90 percent of what came out of my mouth did not air,” which contributed to him being “villainized” during the season.
Luke didn’t share any further details about his and Hannah’s final conversation, explaining, “I can’t share it because I’m under contract.” However, he did admit, “It did not pan out the way it showed.”
Luke received Hannah’s first impression rose during the May 2019 premiere. After dropping the L-word during week two, he quickly became the other men’s least favorite housemate. That tension grew as Luke began getting territorial over Hannah, 30, especially in group settings.
Even with the tension in the house, Hannah and Luke bonded over their Christian faith. However, Hannah decided to send him home after Luke slut-shamed her for having sex with Peter Weber during their fantasy suite date.
“I think the slut-shaming and issues like that, that’s a whole bigger problem in itself,” Brown told Us Weekly exclusively at the time. “It’s not really directed at me; it’s just an issue that we need to address on a bigger level.”
Luke allegedly got “death threats” and was berated on social media after the episode aired, according to his brother Mike Parker. “[Viewers are] telling him he needs psychological help, he has psychological issues,” Mike told Fox Nation in July 2019. “They are doing their best to label him with psychological problems based on a fictitious character created in a reality TV show.”
Looking back, Luke said that was dealing with a lot of “arrogance and being naïve” when he joined the cast.
“I believe [God] called me to be with [the other contestants], to [have the men] be steps under my feet to get there,” Luke said on Ashley Iaconetti and Ben Higgins’ podcast of his calling to The Bachelorette. “That’s not what I would think now.”

Several contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have confessed juicy details about their time on the ABC dating series in the past — especially when it comes to the overnight dates. Hannah Brown, for her part, made headlines after she revealed she had sex with one of her final four during the fantasy suite […]
While on the series, Luke said he used Hannah’s faith-based lifestyle to guide how he approached their relationship — but claimed he was only following her lead.
“I held Hannah, not to a standard of my own, which I did, but more so how I handled that situation was I was trying to hold her to a standard that she said she wanted,” he explained.
Luke noted that during his hometown date, Hannah came to his youth ministry and they spent time at his church.
“She shared her testimony and shared her story of how she came to know God and shared all these things that she wasn’t going to do in the fantasy suites because she was going to further conversation in the relationship,” Luke recalled. “And she shared this path that I for sure was going to hold her to that standard of, ‘Oh, this is what you want, good, this is what I want.’”
He insisted that he wasn’t being “judgmental,” revealing that he prayed for her future despite their messy breakup.
“I’ve heard she’s doing great now and that makes me happy. I don’t know all that she’s involved with,” Luke added. “But that was why it panned out the way it did — I was just trying to follow what she was saying. And that’s, again, I’m trying to be as clear and concise as possible.”

Once he exited the show, Luke claimed he was “really hoping” he and Hannah would “reconnect.” He alleged, “I reached out to her via DM, email, any platform you could think of. I’ve tried reaching out to her multiple times.”
Luke, who is now married with one child and has another on the way, claimed he was “not throwing shade or hating on her for not replying,” admitting Hannah might not have “saw any of them.”
“I remember vividly after the show, just pouring my heart out for her in prayer, praying for her future and her family and her heart,” Luke told podcast listeners.
After being told that Hannah is engaged to Adam Woolard, Luke added, “I hope she has an incredible marriage. I pray that God blesses it in the name of Jesus, and I hope her and her husband have an incredible marriage.”
