The victim’s cause of death is currently unknown, Ian Parrott, Assistant Commissioner at South Australia Police, said in a news conference.
“There are a range of things at the scene that need to be worked through,” Parrott continued. “It is a very complex scene.”
He added that the investigation was still in it’s “very early stages” and that there “are a number of things we still don’t know.”
“It was not a random incident,” Parrott stated, before confirming that both people lived at the address. “It will take some time to understand the exact nature of what’s occurred today,” he continued.
Speaking to 7News, neighbors described the incident as shocking due to the woman seeming “really nice, very pleasant, polite.”
The former TV star, who remains in custody, was taken to the hospital after her arrest before being charged with murder.
She appeared in court via phone link on Friday, June 20 and is set to appear in court at a later date.
