Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth is marking her stillborn daughter Annabell’s 6th birthday.
In an emotional post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, July 2, Duggar, 27, wished her daughter a “happy heavenly” birthday alongside a series of photos taken during her pregnancy and in the hospital.
“happy heavenly 6th birthday Annabell Elise Forsyth ✨👼🏼 ~ July 1, 2019 ~,” wrote Duggar, adding, “*some photos may be disturbing to some.”
One black-and-white photo captured Annabell’s feet, while another shot showed Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth holding their daughter in the hospital, along with a mirror selfie Joy-Anna snapped while she was pregnant.
In the post, the Counting On star confirmed that Annabell weighed 4.8 oz and was 7 inches long.
Joy-Anna’s sister, Jill Duggar Dillard, wrote in the comments section, “ 🩷Annabell is so loved and missed. 💔💕.”
The reality TV star announced the loss of her daughter in July 2019 and revealed that she and her husband learned they had lost Annabell when they went in for their 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal.
A heartbreaking black-and-white photo of the pair in the hospital was shared on July 4, 2019, with a caption that began, “Today marks one week since we heard these words…’So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.’ ”
“We only had her for 20 weeks, Life is fragile and precious,” Joy-Anna wrote in another Instagram post at the time alongside a photo of herself and Austin cradling their stillborn daughter. “So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!💝😇.”
Joy-Anna went on to share how grateful she was for her followers’ support, before recognizing her best friend and Bringing Up Bates star, Carlin Bates.
“Thank you all for your love and support! We can feel the prayers!💕,” she wrote, adding, “Thank you, @carlinbates98 for coming to town to be here for me and for doing my hair and makeup for pictures with our little girl!💖.”
In a previous Instagram post, Joy-Anna also shared the meaning behind her daughter’s chosen names.
“Annabell means ‘God has favored me,’ and Elise means ‘God satisfies,’” she wrote. “What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus.”

Joy-Anna and Austin are also parents to son Gideon, whom they welcomed in February 2018, daughter Evelyn, whom they welcomed in August 2020, and son Gunner, who turned 2 in May.
