George Kittle is reflecting on the night he spent partying with music superstar Taylor Swift and his fellow NFL star Travis Kelce.
The San Francisco 49ers tight end, 31, opened up about the trio’s viral sing-along to Swift’s 2008 song ”Love Story” that happened in Nashville following Kittle and Kelce Tight Ends & Friends event on June 24.
“That was a fun one,” Kittle told NBC Sports’ Matt Maiocco in a July 11 interview of the moment he broke out into song alongside Swift, 35, who had also given a surprise performance of “Shake It Off” at the event.
“I was in the process of handing [my wife] Claire and Taylor drinks for the night, and I was like, ‘I just gotta tell you that ‘Love Story’ … is definitely my favorite Taylor Swift song,’” he recalled. “And as I was telling her, it came on the speakers, and I was like, ‘I’m not going to miss this opportunity.‘ You don’t get to sing ‘Love Story’ with Taylor Swift very often.”
“It was just an absolute riot and something I’ll probably remember forever,” the NFL star added. “I’ve had a fun offseason.”
Kittle and Swift’s impromptu sing-along moment occurred at Tight End University, an annual three-day summer training camp founded by Kelce, 35, Kittle and sportscaster Greg Olsen in 2021.
Kittle posted the video of him, Swift and Kelce singing on Instagram on June 27, captioning the carousel post with, “Tight ends & lots of new friends!!! Shout-out to everyone who made it possible and to the TEs for showing up. @te_university.”
In the clip, Kittle and Swift sing, “Beggin’ you, ‘Please don’t go…’ ” while standing together at a busy party.
Swift then jumps up and down with her arms in the air as the song leads into the chorus and the pair continue to sing along. Kittle then pans the camera toward Swift’s boyfriend Kelce, who is seen smiling while singing along with them.
Separately, for Swift’s surprise “Shake It Off” performance, a source told PEOPLE, “Taylor surprised the crowd by joining Kane Brown onstage … The crowd lost their minds! At the end of her performance she made sure to thank the band and gave each one of them a hug.”

The source also said that Swift was “having the best time” singing along with Kittle and “watching all the country music artists and showing her support for them.”
The insider also said Swift and Kelce “stayed by each other’s side all while chit chatting and catching up with everyone” during the evening. According to the source, Swift’s “face lit up around Travis,” and she “enjoys letting him shine.”
