An Austin food blogger has started a search to find his missing dog.

Taylor Hannan, known on Instagram as “Austin Eater,” first shared to his account on July 25 that his red Honda Civic had been stolen — and his dog, an 8-year-old terrier mix named Noodles who was inside the vehicle at the time, is also missing.

Hannan had been packing for a road trip with Noodles around 4:45 a.m. on July 25, when he secured his pup in the backseat of his vehicle and quickly went back into his house before leaving town. As he returned, Hannan said, he saw a person wearing a black hoodie quickly enter his vehicle and speed away with Noodles inside.

“I know this is super weird, this is not what this page is for,” Hannan said in an emotional video posted to Instagram the morning of the theft. “My car was just stolen with my dog in it… I need help finding my s— — mainly my dog.”

According to KVUE, one of Hannan’s followers spotted the stolen car roughly 20 miles from Hannan’s home the next day, but Noodles was not inside.

“Everything that was electronic they yanked out, or broke, or smashed,” Hannan told the outlet.

“He’s indifferent about a lot of people, and he likes a handful of people, and he really enjoys being around me, so I feel pretty bad he’s not around me,” said Hannan of his missing dog.

On Sunday, Hannan led a search effort to locate the pup throughout South and East Austin — writing on Instagram, “I have faith that we can get him home.” Though Sunday’s efforts were unsuccessful, Hannan has remained hopeful that he’ll be reunited with Noddles soon.

“Thank you to everyone who volunteered and spent time from their weekend to look for Noodles yesterday. You’re the reason we’re going to bring him home!” shared Hannan on Instagram on Monday, July 28. “We were hopeful we’d at least hear of a sighting yesterday, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.”

He continued: “I know it’s Monday and a lot of you have normal lives and jobs to go back to. If you can continue to get his name out there and spread the word that we’re still looking for him, more diligently than ever, we’d greatly appreciate it. Noodles will be found because we don’t give up.”
