Jason Kelce loves how Taylor Swift sums up his brother, Travis Kelce!
Speaking on the Wednesday, Aug. 27, episode of their New Heights podcast — which saw the 37-year-old break his silence on his sibling and Swift’s engagement news — Jason raved over how Swift, 35, described Travis, also 35, during her record-breaking appearance on the show.
“I took away a lot from the interview. I mean, she’s incredibly brilliant, she’s very smart, she’s very funny, all of these things, but the one thing I really took away, and it was highlighted by a lot of people out there, but I try to describe you to people a lot of the times,” Jason began.
“I’m like, listen, nobody knows Travis Kelce and dislikes him. He is the epitome of a great teammate … and there’s just a way about you that you’ve always been a magnetic human being, and you’ve gotten the best out of people and all this stuff. And when she said you were a human exclamation point, I was like, ‘Goddamn.’ Like, she is f—— good with words,” Jason said with a laugh.
“That is such a great way to describe is a great way to describe Travis Kelce. That might be better than Big Yeti, the human exclamation point,” Jason continued, referencing the nickname Travis was given at college thanks to his facial and body hair.
“That’s my new nickname for Travis Kelce. Stealing that one,” Jason added.
During her appearance on New Heights, Swift said of Travis, “Travis is just a vibe booster in everyone’s life that he’s in. He’s like a human exclamation point. When you take a picture on your phone and you push the enhance color button, that’s what you do to everyone’s life … I use so many more exclamation points.”
On the latest episode of the podcast, Jason also went on to praise Swift for how “open” and “incredible” she was during the interview.
“It was incredible for her to feel that comfortable to be on the show,” he said, calling her appearance “authentic” and “transparent.”
“It was just fun to hear everybody’s take on the beginning of me and her and just all the fun from the football season and hearing her take on meeting you for the first time,” Travis added. “I know Tay walked away absolutely excited and ecstatic and happy that she came on here and had her first podcast experience with me and you, man.”
At the start of the latest episode, Jason shared his excitement about the couple’s engagement, which was announced on Tuesday, Aug 26.
“Gigantic piece of ‘New News’ that just hit the waves,” Jason shared, referencing a popular segment from the podcast. “We did record this podcast on Monday, which was Travis’ one day off. So, he is not here to address this himself, but we felt it necessary as a team here at New Heights to get together and send Travis and Taylor a giant congratulations for being engaged! The proposal heard ‘round the world.”
The couple announced their engagement on Tuesday in a joint post on Instagram alongside several photos from the floral-filled garden proposal.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote in the caption of the post, which was set to her 2024 song “So High School.”
The pair started dating in the summer of 2023 and confirmed their romance that October when they stepped out holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty.
