I spotted Joanna Gaines and Blake Lively running into each other on the streets of New York City last October, and my FOMO still hasn’t fully recovered.
The pair was spotted having an animated conversation outside a restaurant, wearing two different takes on fall fashion. Lively’s cheery yellow shacket was certainly eye-catching. Still, I couldn’t stop obsessing over Gaines’ effortlessly stylish outfit, which included straight-leg jeans, slip-on shoes, and a Fjällräven crossbody bag.
Gaines has reached for the crossbody bag more than once since she wore it at her Magnolia Table restaurant last year. And she’s not the only star who’s a fan of the hands-free bag style: Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, and Brittany Mahomes have all given the functional accessory their sartorial stamp of approval, too.

Affordable celebrity-worn fashion finds can be hard to come by, so I’m picking up Gaines’ exact Fjällräven crossbody bag while it’s marked down to $38 on Amazon. I love how its hands-free design makes everything from running errands to zipping through the airport feel easier, and its cool olive color is perfect for fall and winter. Plus, one reviewer said it’s “the perfect size for all your necessities.”
Gap High-Rise Vintage Slim Jeans
Straight-leg jeans have taken over celebs’ denim collection, including Naomi Watts and Laura Dern, and Gaines’ autumn look has me eyeing this pair from Gap. Its light wash and frayed raw hem look reminds me of the pair the lifestyle guru wore, and the ankle-skimming length is great for showing off a cute pair of sneakers, booties, or slip-on sandals. Birkenstock Arizona Essentials Slide Sandal
While we can’t confirm the brand of Gaines’ shoes for certain, there’s a strong possibility that they could be Birkenstocks. (After all, she previously asked for a pair for her birthday, and the brand is so popular in Hollywood.) Add a twist to the iconic Arizona silhouette by picking up this monochromatic espresso pair.
