Another winner has been named at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys!

Shawn Hatosy won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Pitt at the 77th annual award show on Saturday, Sept. 6. When giving his acceptance speech, the actor reacted to the exciting recognition.

“In the words of my 7-year-old, holy s—,” he said, per Gold Derby.

Also in the running were nominees Forest Whitaker (Andor), Giancarlo Esposito (The Boys), Jeffrey Wright (The Last Of Us), Joe Pantoliano (The Last Of Us) and Scott Glenn (The White Lotus).

Hatosy, 49, plays Dr. Jack Abbot, a combat medic working as an attending physician in emergency medicine in The Pitt.

He is a first-time nominee, along with fellow cast member Katherine LaNasa, who is recognized in the category for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The show earned 13 nominations overall, including one for Noah Wyle for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, the show itself got a nod for Outstanding Drama Series, and writers Joe Sachs and R. Scott Gemmill and directors Amanda Marsalis and John Wells each were recognized for their work.

In a statement last month, Wells, Gemmill and Wyle told PEOPLE: “We are honored and overjoyed to be nominated by our peers for The Pitt.”

“It’s truly a labor of love and couldn’t happen without the extraordinary work of many talented collaborators. Our fantastic Los Angeles based team consists of over three hundred and fifty crew, cast, writers, directors, producers and local artisans,” the statement continued.

“We are delighted and humbled to be nominated with our outstanding fellow nominees.”

Whitaker, 64, carries on his iconic Star Wars universe character Saw Gerrera in Andor.

The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series has allowed Whitaker to continue telling the Rebel fighter’s story years later. When the film premiered in 2016, he told PEOPLE that Gerrera was entirely different from his personal, much more peaceful demeanor.

“He’s willing to find whatever means he can to win,” Whitaker explained.

As a Star Wars fan himself, the actor also said he has always been struck by the Force’s “trust yourself” mindset: “I kind of like the philosophy behind finding the Force or finding the power inside of yourself, realizing that anything’s possible. I remembered that very well as a kid.”

This is Whitaker’s fifth Emmy nomination. He previously won in 2003 for Outstanding Television Movie for producing Door to Door.

Esposito, 67, has played Stan Edgar in The Boys, which premiered in 2019 and is set to conclude after its upcoming fifth season.

His character in Prime Video’s satirical superhero series was the CEO of Vought, a corrupt corporation at the center of the drama, but he was booted out of the position. Although the show is ending, Esposito told The Wrap in August that there’s more to the story.

“I think they have some plans for Edgar — hint, hint,” he said, possibly referring to an arc on the spinoff Gen V.

Esposito is one of the show’s four nominations this year, and it marks his sixth Emmy nomination. He was previously up for awards for his performances in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Mandalorian.

Wright, 59, joined The Last of Us in its second season as the powerful, sullen Isaac Dixon.

He also voiced that same character — a marine who became the leader of a rebel militia group called the Washington Liberation Front — in The Last of Us Part II video game in 2020.

This is Wright’s second nomination at this year’s ceremony, as he is also up for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance in the Marvel animation What If…? for his role as The Watcher.

His The Boys co-star, Pantonliano, was also nominated in this category.

Pantoliano, 73, stepped into the role of Eugene Lynden in season 2 of The Last of Us.

His character only appears in flashbacks of the post-apocalyptic drama as the late husband of Gail (Catherine O’Hara), a marijuana farmer who was killed by Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal).

He did not appear in the video games, although his arc in them was entirely different — he was said to have left his family and ultimately of a stroke rather than at the hands of someone else.

This is Pantoliano’s second ever Emmy nomination after he won his first in 2003 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for playing Ralph Cifaretto in The Sopranos.

Glenn, 86, made a mark on season 3 of The White Lotus as the resort owner’s husband, Jim Hollinger.

Throughout the season, Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins) becomes obsessed with finding Jim after suspecting he murdered his biological father.

In the finale, Rick shoots Jim, setting off a line of crossfire that ultimately kills his girlfriend Chelsea (Amy Lou Wood) before Sritala (Lek Patravadi) reveals that Jim was actually Rick’s father.

This is Glenn’s first Emmy nomination and one of 23 total nominations for The White Lotus season 3.
