Kailyn Lowry said she’s struggling through a heavy period as she recovers from a neck lift — all while taking care of her seven children.
“I bled through everything,” Lowry told Lindsie Chrisley on the Sept. 11 episode of their podcast Coffee Convos. She shared that she got her period amid her recovery from a surgery — sharing, “I severely underestimated the healing that is of a neck lift” — and now “I have been fighting for my life.”
The Teen Mom 2 star, 33, said that while taking five of her kids to the dentist in the morning, “I bled through my clothes with my period … I bled through everything.”
After the appointment, she added, “I had to go into the schools like that” to drop her children off.
“I thought you hadn’t bled through your stuff in a while,” Chrisley, 35, said.
“It’s been a long time,” Lowry replied. “I had it mostly under control. And now I’m back to bleeding through my stuff three times a day. I have been wearing men’s boxer briefs to keep a pad in place with a tampon in.”
That morning, she said, she thought her period had stopped. “It’s day four. Like maybe we’re going to lighten up a little bit. But I think my period was like, ‘No, I’m just kidding because you were laying down. So when you stand up, everything comes out.’ So I am just fighting for my life today between the dentist and my period.”
She continued: “I missed my period for the entire month of August.”
“And you knew you were not pregnant? You would be the one person that’s tubes, like, grew back together,” Chrisley said, referencing Lowry’s decision to have a tubal ligation following the late 2024 birth of twins Verse and Valley.
She’s previously talked about her heavy periods, saying that “I change my clothes when I have my period two to three times per day — that’s not including nighttime,” going on to share, “I have recently switched to full-blown f—— diapers when I have my period.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, tubal ligation may impact the menstrual cycle: “When your normal cycle returns, you may notice heavier bleeding and more discomfort than usual,” the medical group says.
