A pregnant wife is in disbelief after reading the surprising texts, which she wasn’t supposed to see, that her husband sent to other people.
The woman explained on the community forum Mumsnet that the “special” bonding time she and her husband planned before the baby’s impending arrival is not going according to how she envisioned it would.
“My partner and I agreed in the early weeks of my pregnancy that we’d spend from 39 weeks onward at my parents’ home, a little way out of the city, so I could relax before the baby arrived,” she wrote.
“Everything is sorted for a home birth there,” she continued. “I was really looking forward to this — time to just slow down, cook together, chat and just enjoy being the two of us before everything changes.”
Now that the couple is currently at the parents’ home, the woman said she “honestly thought” she and her husband were having a “lovely time.”
However, she accidentally discovered that he doesn’t feel the same way.
“Earlier, while trying to connect his phone to Bluetooth, I saw messages between him and a female family member and her husband,” she recalled of his texts to the two people, who are also his work colleagues.
“He was moaning about how bored he is here,” she said. “I feel crushed. I thought this was a special time for us, but he’s not feeling the same.”
Wondering if she’s overreacting, the woman asked the forum, “Am I being unreasonable to be upset that he isn’t enjoying this ‘just us’ time? Or do I need to accept that he might just find it boring, even if I don’t?”
