Below Deck star Aesha Scott shared an update about her wedding to Scott Dobson, including some insight into the guest list.
The 33-year-old reality star announced her engagement to Dobson in May 2024. The couple will tie the knot in March 2026 in New Zealand.
During a Monday, Sept. 29 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Scott said that she isn’t stressed out about the planning process. She also revealed that the guest list is starting to come together.
Notably, one of her Below Deck costars will not be present on the big day, her former yacht boss Captain Jason Chambers.
Scott explained the reasoning to host Andy Cohen, saying that there were limitations on how many people they could invite, with the guest list capped at 130.
She added that Chambers was already aware, saying, “I just called him one day, and I said, ‘Hey, just so you know, you’re not coming to the wedding.’ ”
It’s not just the limited space, either; Scott doesn’t appreciate how people compare her relationship with Chambers to her relationship with her future husband.
“I also don’t think it’s respectful because so many people would come up to me and be like, ‘Oh, we like Scott, but I really wish you were with Jason,’ ” she shared.
Scott will celebrate her day with several other costars.
“I’ve got Hannah [Ferrier] and her husband coming, Anastasia [Surmava] and her husband, [Captain] Sandy [Yawn] and Leah [Rae Yawn, Sandy’s wife], and Nathan [Gallagher] and Gael [Cameron],” she said. “And then a lot of people on the back end, too, in the production end.”
She also explained that Yawn got an invitation before Chambers, saying, “Well, we can’t bring everyone we love, and Sandy’s been in my life a lot longer. So Sandy trumped.”
Scott confirmed to Cohen that the wedding was “planned,” saying that it wasn’t a difficult process for her at all.
“I don’t understand why people get so stressed, maybe because I’m a chief stew,” she said, adding, “You just sit down, and you email people and say, ‘Hey, can you do my wedding?’ And they say yes or no.”
As for her preferences, she said that she was not going to be a difficult bride. “I’m very simple, though. Noodles and curry, that’s all I need,” she explained.
This isn’t the first time that Scott has opened up about planning her big day. In April, she told PEOPLE that she didn’t want to start looking for a dress until January. However, her friends urged her to reconsider.
“I was going to look at it in January, but my friends [who] have gotten married were like, ‘No, don’t be stupid,’ ” she said. “Because apparently wedding dress alterations, to get them really fitted true to size, can take two or three months because they get so backed up.”

As a compromise, the “last-minute” planner said, “So I was like, ‘Fine, we’ll compromise and we’ll go early November.’ ”
At the time, a lot was already planned.
“We have got a venue, a videographer, a photographer and I’ve organized the DJ,” she told PEOPLE. “We’re doing a saxophone-playing DJ because I love the saxophone. Get the sax out and put the bangers on!”
The menu for the big day will be centered around her favorite food. “We’re going down a not-so-traditional route, and we are doing all Thai food because I’m obsessed with Thai,” she admitted. “If I’m a little bit tipsy after the afternoon drinks, I want to sit down, I want to slurp up a curry. I just want to sit there in spice heaven, so we’re going to do Thai food.”
