Darius Rucker is engaged!
The country singer announced his engagement to Emily Deahl, a lifestyle content creator and singer, on Oct. 8. In a joint post on Instagram, Rucker and Deahl shared a picture-perfect moment from the proposal with Deahl showing off her new ring.
“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,” the lead singer and guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish wrote in the post’s caption. “The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”
The proposal took place on a boardwalk, per the photo, and saw Rucker on one knee with Deahl smiling down at him. The influencer still couldn’t stop smiling in their selfie, beaming as Rucker kissed her on the cheek.
Deahl shared the post on her Instagram Stories, and explained to her followers why they haven’t seen much of Rucker on her social media before the engagement.
“I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me,” Deahl wrote. “And all I wanted to do was protect it.”
She added, “But damn I’m glad I don’t have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now 🥳.”
Rucker — who was previously married to Beth Leonard from 2000 to 2020 — first opened up publicly about Deahl only one month prior to their engagement. He hard-launched their relationship with a post on Instagram on Sept. 9, commemorating the couple’s trip to Las Vegas.
“Wizard of Oz at @spherevegas with my love & my boys. 1000/10!!!!!” Rucker captioned the post, which featured a smiling selfie of himself and Deahl.
Though Deahl kept her relationship with Rucker private before Oct. 8, the singer-influencer seemed to hint that she’s in a relationship in a recent post on Instagram. In a series of clips (presumably shot by Rucker), Deahl sang and danced her heart out at a concert featuring Lady Gaga — one of her musical influences.

The video kicked off with a quick clip of Rucker asking Deahl, “Where are we going?” to which Deahl replied, “To see Lady Gaga!”
“When your man fully supports your love for someone else,” Deahl wrote over the video, alluding to Rucker. She added in the caption, “Ok done with Gaga content (for now).”
