Michelle Young had to cut short her long-awaited honeymoon.
The Bachelorette alum, 32, shared in a Nov. 1 Instagram Stories post that she and husband Jack Leius ended their European trip a week early due to her health.
“So many have asked about honeymoon photos… Jack and I loved the time we got to spend in Venice and Positano. Sadly we had to end our trip 7 days early because my health couldn’t keep up,” she wrote in the since-expired post, per Bachelor Nation.
She went on to detail the symptoms she’s been experiencing and what she learned after having some tests done.
“For the last 8 months to a year, I’ve been battling with extreme fatigue, brain fog, panic attacks, heart palpitations, hypoglycemia, and POTS-like symptoms. After a number of tests came back normal, we thought it could be stress and anxiety with the wedding until all the symptoms remained months after the wedding passed,” she said.
“Doctors haven’t been able to find anything until recently getting the results of a Mycotoxin and Mold test showing I’ve been SEVERLY exposed and my body has been working hard to fight it all off 😢,” she continued.
While she said she and Leius have “thankfully” just moved to a new home that they know is “safe,” she believes she was “exposed to something (many things) in the past few years.”
Young shared that she is currently undergoing “an intense detox,” taking “many medications” and doing “IV therapy” to help her body “get rid of everything.”
“Long story short, I will share the few [honeymoon] pics we have soon but didn’t get to capture as many memories as I would have liked since my health wasn’t holding up!” she wrote.
Concluding her post, Young said she hopes to “get good health back soon” and return to Italy with her husband in the spring to “redo” their honeymoon.
Young and Leius began dating in 2023 after meeting through a mutual friend. They made their first public relationship debut at The Golden Bachelor alums Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s January 2024 wedding.
The couple got engaged in October 2024 and tied the knot just months later on June 7 in Minnesota, with around 200 guests in attendance.
Later reflecting on their wedding, Young told PEOPLE it was “a whirlwind of emotions.”

“Our cheeks may get stuck from smiling so big,” she said. “We knew regardless of how things turned out, it would feel like an incredibly special day. So many fun moments and funny stories.”
Days after the nuptials, Young shared a series of photos of the festivities on Instagram, writing, “Best day of our lives 🫶🏾. Feeling all the love and we are very grateful for everyone who helped make our day so special ❤️.”
