A teenager is being accused of allegedly setting his friend on fire with gasoline in Florida.

The authorities say Bradey Ming, 17, was arrested after the Marion County Sheriff's office obtained a video of the teen allegedly playing with a gas can near a bonfire before pouring a trail of gasoline toward a chair where another boy sat and then doused him in gas. The alleged victim is a minor whose name has not been released. The incident occurred on Kauffman Island in Lake Kerr, on Jan. 11, officers said in court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In the video footage, which was described in a probable cause affidavit and obtained by multiple news outlets including Fox affiliate WOFL and ABC affiliate WCJB, Ming appears to be heard asking the other teen, "You want to be set on fire?"

The boy is seen catching fire before the other teens present urge him to jump into the lake. Per the arrest report, the victim was later hospitalized with burns to his hands, as well as the backs of his legs and arms.

Officials from the Marion County Sheriff's office discovered the video after the victim’s father showed it to authorities.

The boy initially told his parents that his legs were burned after he tried to throw a water bottle with gasoline into the fire, according to the probable cause affidavit. However, the victim’s father then saw a video of the incident.

Speaking to the detective, the victim alleged that he and Ming were part of a group of teens that had been drinking alcohol near a fire when Ming began "messing" with the fire.

The boy further alleged that Ming used the gasoline can to create a trail towards him, police said in the affidavit. After catching fire, the victim then ran into the lake.

The boy told authorities that he didn’t know why Ming set him on fire, saying that they were “cool" and had not been arguing.

He added that he initially tried to cover up what happened after Ming allegedly asked him not to tell his parents, per the affidavit.

Authorities were told by a witness that the group made a fire due to feeling cold. The witness  corroborated the victim's statement that Ming created a trail of fire before splashing the victim with gas, the police affidavit claims.

Officials said there had been no arguing or hint that Ming wanted to maliciously hurt the victim, and Ming turned himself in to police. In a video shared by WCJB, Ming can be seen hugging his crying mother before being arrested and climbing into the back of a police car.

Ming is being held without bond on a felony aggravated battery charge, according to an arrest warrant and WOFL.
