A couple who share a love of skiing made sure to incorporate the hobby into their special day.

Evan Stark, 39, and Kristyn Brophy Stark, 36, tied the knot at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel in Vermont, on Saturday, Feb. 7, before putting on a big show for their loved ones by hitting the slopes of the ski resort, according to Boston.com.

After exchanging their “I dos”  at around 3:30 p.m. local time, the couple told the outlet that they quickly packed on some warm winter accessories in addition to their ski gear. The groom added a coat, hat and scarf to his attire before setting off, while his bride added a white jacket, gloves, scarf and earmuffs.

After donning warm accessories and their skis, the couple headed out to board a lift for the final run of the day. The ski lifts were scheduled to stop running at 4:00 p.m., but the couple told Boston.com that they managed to make it on time.

“We got on the lift probably 10 minutes before it stopped spinning,” Evan recalled to the outlet.

Their wedding photographer, Anne Mientka from Anne Mientka Photography, accompanied them down the hill, snapping photos and videos of the pair doing what they love. She told Boston.com that she was assisted by one of the bridesmaids who was a ski instructor.

“It was wild to see her dress cascading down,” the wedding photographer of eight years recalled. “People were gawking and clapping and just celebrating them, which was such an added bonus.”

“They were so graceful and beautiful on skis. It was amazing to see,” Mientka added. “It was the most epic post-ceremony I have ever shot.”

The bride shared a clip from the post-wedding ski on Facebook. In the clip, she could be seen gliding gracefully across the snow as her wedding dress trailed behind her. Her husband was skiing close by and cheering could be heard in the background.

After skiing down the mountain, the couple, who legally married at City Hall in Boston on Feb. 7, 2025, rejoined their wedding party at the reception. The bride noted that there was still a bit of snow that had stuck on her and made for a memorable experience.

“During our first dance, I was leaving a snail trail behind me of melting snow,” Kristyn told Boston.com.

However, she noted that she wouldn’t have it any other way, adding, “Winter is my favorite season… I like the cold.”

The couple, who met on the Hinge dating app in 2021 and got engaged three years later at Maine’s Acadia National Park, knew when they were planning their nuptials that they wanted to incorporate skiing into it from the start.

“We’ve gone [skiing] together a minimum [of] 20 days every season since we met,” Evan told Boston.com.

They even made the wedding reception ski-themed, with guest tables named after various ski resorts and they also created old-school lift tickets to help guests to find their tables. Old sets of skis were also set up around the wedding reception ballroom.

It was a wedding to remember, especially for Kristyn who shared several photos from the big day on Facebook with a special message: “Brides — if it’s your dream to ski in your wedding dress, just do it. You won’t regret it.”
