Alexa+ is about to get a whole lot sassier.
Amazon's generative AI-powered voice assistant is now capable of taking on four different personality styles: Brief, Chill, Sweet and Sassy.
The Sassy mode, Amazon said in a news release, "brings unfiltered personality with razor-sharp wit, playful sarcasm and occasional censored profanity" to Alexa+.
"You asked for it, and we’re delivering it. For those who appreciate humor with an edge, this style delivers entertaining banter and clever comebacks that keep things interesting," the company said.
The Sassy Alexa+ mode "is best suited for adults," per Amazon. That specific personality style is not available on devices where Amazon Kids is enabled.

Amazon said the four differing personality styles offer "distinct ways to customize how Alexa responds to your questions and requests, making the Alexa+ experience more tailored than ever before."
The company further explained, "It’s the same capable Alexa customers know and love, just with a communication style that fits your preferences," and Amazon added that each personality "represents a carefully calibrated combination across all five dimensions, and the difference is in the delivery."
The Brief personality style, Amazon said, "is our answer to customer requests for shorter, more direct responses." The Chill personality style, meanwhile, "brings an easygoing and relaxed energy to every interaction," and the Sweet personality style "is your biggest cheerleader, responding with genuine warmth and enthusiasm."

Amazon product users can change Alexa+ by telling their devices, "Alexa, change your personality style," or through the Alexa app. Consumers can switch personality types or return to the original Alexa+ at any time, but each personality style is device-specific.
Looking ahead, Amazon said, "There's more to come." The company hinted, "As we continue to refine and expand these experiences based on your feedback, we're excited to explore even more ways to make Alexa feel uniquely yours."
