Dennis Condrey, a WWE legend and founding member of The Midnight Express tag team, has died. He was 74.

On Friday, March 20, Dax Harwood shared on Instagram that Condrey had died after allowing him “the privilege of being a friend” for the past five years.

“Greatest of All Time scenarios will always be a hot button for debate,” Harwood, 41, wrote on Instagram alongside several photos and videos paying tribute to the late athlete. “However, when it comes to greatest tag teams of all time, almost always is The Midnight Express brought up.”

Harwood, the current three-time AEW World Tag Team Champion, went on to remember Condrey and his wife, Theresa Marie Rosas, for always making him feel like he was “part of their family.” He also reflected on the mentorship he received from Condrey over the years.

“Dennis and I would text after every match I had,” Harwood recalled. “He would always tell me what he liked and what he felt I could work on. That is something that’ll never be lost on me. One of my heroes loved me enough to take time out of his day to let me know how proud he was of me.”

“I loved that man and I’ll do everything I possibly can over the next few years I have left in the business, to keep his and the Midnight Express’ spirit alive,” he concluded. “They paved this road so all other tag teams could walk easier. God Bless a true Pioneer of Professional Wrestling.”

“AEW and the wrestling world are mourning the passing of Loverboy Dennis Condrey, one half of the legendary Midnight Express,” All Elite Wrestling wrote on X after Condrey's death. “Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and fans during this difficult time.”

After nearly four decades in the ring, Condrey retired in 2011 and turned his focus to spending time with his wife and his family.

“Dennis Condrey is one half of the greatest tag team of all time, The Midnight Express,” Harwood wrote on a GoFundMe he set up to help Theresa with funeral expenses and bills. “For years they brought excitement and entertainment to millions of people. However, as great as he was in the ring, it doesn’t hold a candle to the human being he was.”
