Haley Hoffman Smith wants you to manifest your dream life.

The self-proclaimed "Chief Dream Officer" and manifestation influencer recently spoke with PEOPLE about her tips and tricks for those looking to start the season off strong, noting that spring is "the perfect time" to adopt new habits and break old ones.

"In manifestation, we are always up against our subconscious mind, and our subconscious mind rules 95% of our lives. A lot of today will be a repeat of yesterday unless we choose something different," Smith, 29, shares.

One piece of advice she shares is to ask yourself, "What is it that I want to create this spring?"

"If I could have the best spring possible, what would I like to call in? How would I like to feel every single day? What am I in control of? My attitude, my behaviors from showing up, and what I would like to create. What opportunities would I like to call in?"

She recommends that people take each morning as an opportunity to check in with themselves, dedicate time spent away from their phones, and "just think about what you would like for the season."

"You're building out a new neural pathway devoted to what you're creating in spring," she explains, adding that "as much as you can lean into the new, do that."

As for things to avoid around the spring equinox, she says to stop putting things off until "someday."

"Make every day a special occasion so that everything feels new and it doesn't feel like we're waiting on anything anymore," she shares.

"Instead of waiting, once the idea comes in, ask, 'What action can I take today to get me there? How can I show up differently?'" she says. "An intentional grounding morning ritual is really profound. It's so small, but it makes the biggest difference because most of the time we go through our lives on autopilot."

"A spring morning is the perfect time to ground oneself," Smith adds.

First thing in the morning, Smith says she is "very aware if anything is bothering me."

"Let's breathe, let's do a little tapping, let's have my coffee and let me face it head on rather than like waking up and going into the busy day and not assessing what I need to listen to within myself," Smith says.

She emphasizes the importance of leaving "stagnation" in winter.

"There was something about this winter, at least for me personally, but some of my friends shared the same sentiment, where it just felt really slow," she says. "There was a waiting energy, and now I think, 'What am I waiting on?' I wanna get moving, make the most of every day."

For those looking for spring-cleaning tips, Smith says all they need is "music and coffee."

"The metaphorical concept of spring cleaning is getting rid of the old way of being to bring in the new. Opening some windows, playing happy music and cleansing out everything that doesn't spark joy and letting go of it," Smith shares.

Smith jump-starts every day with a cup of coffee. What's been helpful for her, she shares, is "having my vision board, right by my coffee maker, because that's what I beeline towards right when I wake up."

"Having visual cues around you first thing is helpful. When you're tired in the morning, you're not like, 'What's my spring manifestation ritual?'" she explains. "I have the vision board, and then it's just like, okay, let me just be very intentional with this first cup of my Starbucks coffee at home. If there's a candle, there's a smell that you can associate with the new season, that's really powerful from a neuroscience perspective."

Smith recently partnered with Starbucks for its new Starbucks at Home coffee springtime flavors, including Starbucks® White Chocolate Macadamia Flavored Coffee.

"I start every morning with a coffee, and then I have coffee throughout the day. When there is a new spring flavor and a new season coming in, it literally indicates to your brain, it's actually a new and different flavor, it's a different taste, and it's a new time," Smith shares.
