Love Overboard star Lauren "Lo" Ollivierre has no regrets about her tumultuous journey aboard the yacht.
The 29 year old paired up with David Fuhrmann on day one of the Hulu dating series and they quickly became the "married" couple of the group. When shipwrecker Val Zuluaga arrived and set her sights on David, Lo wasn't initially worried — and she was even less bothered when David asked her to be his girlfriend, officially, that same day.
Looking back, she tells PEOPLE, "I think that he was just doing what he thought he was supposed to do."
The most dramatic moment of the season came when David took 45 minutes to decide between Lo and Val during a plank ceremony. He ultimately chose Val and dumped Lo, his girlfriend, overboard. "Everyone was restless," Lo says of the plank ceremony. "For me, though, after 3.5 minutes, I was like, 'Dude, I don't care what your answer is. Screw you.'"
David and Val ended up coming in second place in the finale, as Lo says that they pursued a relationship after they left the yacht. "He ended up cheating on her, again, very unironically," Lo claims. "She messaged me [about it] and I was like, 'Girl, I told you so. Hello.'"

Val "posted something kind of alluding to" the infidelity on social media, Lo alleges, "and I may or may not have had a little insight intel before she told me."
"So I messaged back on her post, and I was like, 'I told you you should have listened to me,' and then she just went on to tell me everything that happened. He was cheating the whole time, he's a liar, he's not who he says he is," she continues. "I mean, come on, girl. I tried to tell her."
PEOPLE reached out to David for comment, and he said in a statement, "I’m aware of the comments, and while I understand emotions can run high coming out of an experience like that, I don’t agree with the way things are being characterized. Relationships formed in that environment are complex, and what people see or hear after the fact doesn’t always reflect the full reality of what was going on at the time."
"Out of respect for everyone involved," he added, "I’m not interested in going back and forth publicly or speaking negatively about anyone. I’ve taken a lot from the experience, and I’m focused on moving forward in a positive direction."

In a statement shared March 28 on Instagram, Val asked for "privacy while I process things in my own time" as she addressed "curiosity about what happened after the show" for her. "I'll share my story when I'm ready and on my own terms," she wrote. "Until then, I hope we can all respect each other's journeys without trying to sensationalize them."

Lo has mixed feelings about it all, she says. "I can obviously empathize with her, but it was hard for me to sympathize with her just because you're essentially the reason why all this occurred. I mean, David is obviously the one who's mainly at fault, but seeing some of the scenes and stuff, what was occurring was just interesting to me."
"I think he's very lustful," she says. "It was interesting to see him on that date [with Val] and see him act in a way that he's never acted toward me, in terms of just overly sexualizing me … He completely didn't treat me like that. He was so respectful toward me, made my plate every day, pulled my chair out every day. So I was just like, 'Who is this person?'"
Still, she says Val "really didn't deserve" to be treated how David treated her. "I'm sure it'll actually be pretty impactful for her to see all these episodes and see how he was [with me]. But I mean, we're both better off. He's the one who has to figure out who he is."
After filming wrapped, Lo says that she and David "had a brief little bulls— chat," and he was "being all sweet" to her. "We can't lie — David, he's gorgeous. So he got me a little bit for a second, but I'm like, 'This is just bulls—.' He was saying, 'I don't see anything long-term with Val.'"
"I think I was really just looking for him to take accountability," Lo adds. "And I still, to this day, have never gotten a complete explanation, but I literally don't care for one."

Despite how betrayed she felt in the moment, Lo says that things "couldn't have ended better" with David in retrospect. "If I were to continue this relationship into the real world and be let down that way, I would be extra embarrassed. The way that it happened was perfect."
For now, Lo is less focused on dating and more focused on herself. "I really haven't dated the past six, seven months," she says.
Instead, she's been "focusing on looking my best [and] feeling my best." She's "open to" and "hoping" for love in the future, though.
All episodes of Love Overboard are now streaming on Hulu.
