Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula took a weekend apart amid their marital troubles in the latest episode of Summer House.
In the Tuesday, April 28 episode of the Bravo show, Amanda decided to stay in New York City while Kyle joined the rest of the group in the Hamptons, where several of their costars pointed out that there appeared to be more calm than usual.
“Do you feel like you're able to have more levity and just a good time this weekend because she's not here?” Jesse Solomon asked Kyle, who replied, “I mean, yeah. When I'm just being myself, I feel like I just irritate her.”
When Jesse attempted to offer some advice, however, Kyle shut down the conversation. “Can we just not talk about this? I was having a good weekend,” he said.

Later, Kyle revealed that his attempts to stay connected with Amanda when they are not together often go completely unanswered.
“My text thread with Amanda is perhaps one of the most depressing text threads of all time,” he admitted. “The only reaction we got all weekend from her was when West [Wilson] said in the group chat, ‘Best night ever.’ Amanda, her ears perked up. She's like, ‘Damn.’ That's what it took to give her a little FOMO.”
Kyle and Amanda have since separated, and in March, she and West shocked the Bravo universe when they confirmed that they are dating. Their close friendship has been documented throughout the season, with Amanda playing a central role in encouraging West and her close friend Ciara Miller to make amends following years of tension due to their messy breakup.
The exes ultimately agreed to be “best friends” again on the April 28 episode, which excited the entire group. At the end of the weekend, Jesse noted that there was a newfound positive energy in the house in part due to Kyle’s lifted spirits.
“He was happy,” Jesse said. “He was able to be himself without Amanda yelling at him for being himself.”
Jesse went on to claim that Kyle “didn’t seem upset” that Amanda wasn't around for the weekend, as Mia Calabrese said that she has “actually never seen Kyle like that before.”
“Well, now he doesn't want to talk about his relationship with Amanda, and he's trying to just table any conversation, because he knows himself,” Jesse added. “He's smart enough to know that anything that comes out of his mouth is going to be negative and cause issues in his relationship.”
“It's not solving the underlying problems in the relationship,” he continued. “I don't think they're having sex. I don’t think they’ve had sex in maybe years.”
“It almost seems as if they didn't really think about how they would each evolve individually in the relationship over the years,” Ciara speculated. “But are they compatible at this stage of their life? Or can they find that compatibility again?”

After returning to the city, Ciara met up with Amanda, who revealed that she felt like she was “falling into a depression again” and had just come from her first couples therapy session with Kyle.
“In couples therapy, I am telling this woman our love story, and it sounds like a psychological thriller,” Amanda joked. “There is no rom in this com. I'm like, ‘Yeah, so we met, and he wouldn't define the relationship with me, and then he broke up with me. He made out with multiple women. We got engaged, and then there was a rumor that he cheated on me, and then we got married, and then there's been multiple rumors ever since, and now we hate each other, and here we are.’ And she's like, ‘Where's the part where you fell in love?’”
She explained to Ciara that she doesn’t feel like she and Kyle are on the same page. Ciara suggested they continue to spend more time apart to “focus more on the crux of your issues.”
“I agree, and I don't think that that's a bad idea,” Amanda said. “I just feel like he would never go for it.”
Ciara also teased that Amanda “missed a big weekend” given her rekindling with West, but Amanda brushed it off before reiterating that her alone time “was necessary.”
She had more to say about the situation at the launch of Carl Radke’s non-alcoholic Soft Bar later that week, expressing skepticism about the dynamic when Jesse said that West and Ciara were planning to get drinks with Ben Waddell and his girlfriend Sabrina that night.
“Okay, but like, that's not friends,” Amanda quipped. “How did we go from zero to 100? I mean, they're going on a double date.”
She added, “West has to be cautious, because I don't think that [Ciara] could handle just a friendship.”
