Jennifer Aniston gave Valerie Cherish the surprise of a lifetime to close out The Comeback.
Lisa Kudrow joined Evan Ross Katz for the final episode of HBO's companion podcast for her comedy series, and at the end of the episode, she answered a few questions as her character.
When Aniston called in as a "superfan" to ask a question, Kudrow, as Valerie, was at a loss for words.
“Hi, Valerie. My name is Jen Aniston, and I’m such a huge fan," Aniston said in the pre-recorded video, which got a big gasp from Valerie. "My question is: Is it lonelier at the top or in the middle?”
“Okay, I don’t even know what she asked me anymore because it’s Jennifer Aniston!" Valerie said. "Who’s a fan! Well, why not? Well, why not? Why shouldn’t she be? Oh my. That’s just thrilling."

"I can’t even think, because that was Jennifer Aniston," she continued. "Jennifer Aniston, talking to me like a peer. Aw, she’s so sweet. I mean, we are peers."
Valerie also pointed out that she has a history with Aniston because Friends filmed on the same Warner Bros. stage as Valerie's show, How's That?
"We have a connection. Isn’t that funny? It’s more than just physical presence," Valerie said. "Never better."
The final episode of season 3 of the HBO series aired on May 10. Kudrow, 62, told PEOPLE that the final scene she filmed for the show was also the show's last scene.
“We started with rehearsal, and I couldn’t get through it. And I thought, ‘Oh, no. What’s going to happen?’" she said. "I had a very hard time sending myself away to not intrude on Valerie, who’s not having the same experience that I am having. It was overwhelming.”

“I also felt like, ‘Why did we shoot this last? We should have shot this last week,’ and then I know there’s more, and she tricked us," Kudrow said. "That was hard.”
“I needed to take a minute and just leave the stage and walk around outside and have a little talk with myself."
The Comeback is now streaming on HBO Max.
