Brooks Marks is learning a lot about himself through his time on Bravo's Next Gen NYC.

Brooks, 26, isn't a stranger to reality TV, as he's accompanied his mother, Meredith Marks, in various scenes of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

However, while Brooks appeared at Vulture's Inaugural Reality Masterminds Celebration at New York City's The Lawn Club on May 7, he shared exclusively with PEOPLE what he’s learned from being on the buzzy Gen Z-focused reality show.

"Oh, I mean, I've learned that I really hate confrontation," he shared. "I feel like I knew I did, but I never recognized how intense my hatred of confrontation was and to the point that it was almost hurting me and making situations deeper than they needed to be."

"And so I feel like it's helped me overcome that and become a more confrontational person and made me more direct as well, which I'm grateful for," Brooks added.

He previously told PEOPLE in June 2025 that being on Next Gen NYC left him with a "lot of respect" for his mom.

"On [her] show, I can just run into my room and hibernate, but on this show, I'm like, 'I can't really do that,' " he said.

As for the upcoming season 2 of Next Gen NYC, Brooks said he's "really excited" for everyone to watch it — as there are some fun changes in store. "It's so different and people are gonna be very surprised in a good way, I hope," he said.

He didn't get too deep into what to expect, as he didn't "want to spoil it." Brooks did tease though that "hopefully you'll see more" about his self-titled clothing brand.

Brooks' bio reads on Bravo's website: "However, turning vision into reality proves more difficult than expected. As the pressure builds, Brooks is forced to confront professional and personal challenges ashe starts to find his voice within the group and address lingering tensions head-on."

The season 1 cast included Brooks, Ariana Biermann, Riley Burruss, Gia Giudice, Ava Dash, Emira D'Spain, Shai Fruchter, Georgia McCann, Hudson McLeroy and Charlie Zakkour, all of whom are expected to return.

New additions for season 2 include Brooke Shields' daughter, Rowan Henchy, who will appear as the "new girl," Liam Obergfoll and Kendall White.

"The pace is faster, the hustle is louder, and for this New York City crew, life in the city that never sleeps is a full-on reality check. From first real apartments and lingering scandals to messy breakups, shifting friendships and new romances, everyone's trying to build a life that feels authentic — but also aesthetic," the synopsis reads. "Eager to carve out their own identities, they're determined to make it on their own terms while also navigating the pressure to curate the right vibe, the right circles and a feed that keeps up with the life they're chasing."

Season 2 of Next Gen NYC premieres June 24 at 9 p.m. ET. It streams Thursdays on Peacock.
