A Florida woman, who was convicted of repeatedly stabbing her teenage sister following an altercation over a cell phone, has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Local 10 and the Tampa Free Press reported that Lynn My Le, 26, was also sentenced to seven years of probation for the October 2025 incident that took place in Cutler Bay, Fla.

Court records show that the sentence was handed down on May 4.

Le was initially charged with second-degree attempted murder, but records obtained by the outlet show that she was convicted of aggravated battery resulting in bodily harm.

Le was arrested on Oct. 26, 2025, in her South Florida home, CBS News and Local 10 previously reported.

The incident began when Le's 15-year-old sister woke up on the couch to find her sister looking through her phone, according to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, per Local 10 and NBC Miami.

After the teen confronted Le and tried to take back her phone, Le armed herself with a knife and stabbed the 15-year-old about four times in the back as she tried to run for the door, deputies said.

Le then stabbed her sister roughly six more times after she collapsed, the report continued. She only stopped after "the victim pleaded for her life," per CBS News.

Deputies found the victim with at least 10 puncture wounds, the outlets reported at the time.

“The teen is critical, but stable,” Detective Samantha Choon said after the incident, according to the Miami Herald.

The Tampa Free Press reported that a judge put a domestic violence stay-away order in place for Le, and later dismissed her initial attempted murder charge. Due to the new charge, Le's sentence was heavily weighted toward probation rather than prison time, the outlet reported.
