Daily Horoscope: July 28: Don’t Act Impulsively

There’s a difference between what you want and what’s actually good for you, so think twice before making an impulsive decision today.

The sun in Leo will meet with Venus in Virgo, just as Venus moves into a tense square with Mars in Gemini today, but there’s more — the sun will eventually clash with Mars, while Jupiter prepares to amplify the entire situation.

This means our feelings and desires are as bold as ever, making our appetites just as ravenous, but there’s a catch.

While the sun in Leo prefers confidence, pleasure and a full spectrum of self-expression, Venus in Virgo is too busy noticing every flaw, inconsistency and unmet expectation.

This can, in turn, make us unusually sensitive to what feels off in our relationships, surroundings and even our appearance.

So while we crave praise and recognition, we’re simultaneously questioning whether we’ve earned it, which can be a frustrating dichotomy.

In the meantime, Venus’ clash with Mars turns attraction, competition and dissatisfaction up a few notches or so, in the sense that what we value and what we desire are at odds.

Still, the tension between these two planets can be quite productive, especially creatively.

The moon remains void in Capricorn from 2:11 a.m. ET, until it enters Aquarius at 9:46 p.m. ET, making most of the day better suited for self-reflection and tying up loose ends.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Your patience is wearing thin, Aries. You’re also as opinionated as ever, and someone could be moving at a pace that personally offends you. Before turning a minor delay into something bigger, redirect your energy into something productive. 

Taurus (April 19-May 20)

You may want comfort and attention with absolutely no questions asked, Taurus. Unfortunately, someone close to you could have different plans. Say what you need to say without expectations.

Gemini (May 20-June 20)

You have a lot to say and your mouth could be sharper than your judgment today, especially if you feel challenged or misunderstood, Gemini. A clever response is tempting, but it’s probably best to read the room first.

Cancer (June 21-July 21)

A big purchase or emotional decision could feel urgent today, simply because you’re feeling restless, Cancer. Give yourself a day (or at the very least sleep on it) before spending money or making something official.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)

You want to be seen, appreciated and perhaps even praised, Leo. Just resist the urge to perform or go overboard. Your self-confidence is more than enough, so focus on yourself for now.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

You could notice inconsistencies in a relationship, conversation or plan today, Virgo. Chances are, you’re not wrong about what you’re experiencing, but nitpicking can come across as criticism.

Libra (Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

A friendship or group dynamic could feel competitive, awkward or weirdly performative today, Libra. Don’t chase approval or validation from others. Your social life should be fun, not hypercritical.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)

Professional tension could intensify if someone suddenly questions your sense of authority, tools or timing, Scorpio. Resist the urge to prove yourself by overworking or sending a dramatic email. 

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

You could feel desperate for a change of scenery, a new idea or something that makes life feel less predictable, Sagittarius. That’s great, just don’t confuse insatiability with growth and productivity. 

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
