As the release of Practical Magic 2 draws closer, Nicole Kidman has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated sequel.
On Friday, Aug. 7, Kidman, 59, posted photos on Instagram taken on the film’s set, including several with costars Sandra Bullock, Joey King and Maisie Williams.
Several shots show Kidman surrounded by plants, potions and books — as well as a black cat — as she got into character.
Others gave fans a glimpse at the beloved Victorian-style Massachusetts house that the characters called home in the original film. (However, the house is a set, and its interiors were built on a soundstage.)

Some more images show Kidman, Bullock, 62, King, 26, and Williams, 29, wearing flowing gowns while hooked onto wires, seemingly filming a scene that involves flying, in front of a blue screen.
The castmates could also be seen sharing hugs and smiles on set, both during their scenes and while cameras weren’t rolling.
“Just a little magic, ✨🌙🔮,” Kidman captioned her social media post.

Practical Magic, based on Alice Hoffman’s 1995 novel of the same name, stars Kidman and Bullock as the Owens sisters, a pair of witches descended from a fictional survivor of the Salem Witch Trials who are fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with, while learning to accept the most magical parts of themselves and chart their own paths.
The movie’s sequel — set to be released on Sept. 11, 28 years after the original — will see the actresses reprising their roles as Gillian (Kidman) and Sally (Bullock).

Original cast members Kidman and Bullock will be joined by Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
Elsewhere, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest reprise their roles as the eclectic aunts who raised the sisters.

Bullock and Kidman offered a look at the forthcoming movie at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April. At the time, they gleefully announced, “The witches are back!”
Kidman explained that the film’s original house, torn down after filming, was rebuilt, and she teased, “We also have our past catching up with us, and we have our destinies, and we have our family.”
“Sally is single, and if you know the original film, you can probably guess why,” Bullock quipped, referencing the cursed love motif of Practical Magic.
Kidman first announced that Practical Magic would receive a sequel in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE. She said she and Bullock “found a way in“ to returning to the world of the original movie.
“There’s a lot more to tell, which is why we go, ‘Okay, this is kind of interesting now to be able to do this,’” she explained.
Practical Magic 2 debuts in theaters on Sept. 11.
