Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix are turning the 2026 Emmys into a best friends’ night out.
The Parent Trap costars walked the blue carpet together at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, Sept. 14, continuing a friendship that began nearly three decades ago on the set of the beloved 1998 film.
For the occasion, the longtime pals even coordinated their looks, with Hendrix, 55, wearing a white beaded gown while Walter, 63, opted for a black dress with sheer tulle sleeves.
And according to the pair, coordinating their Emmys-week wardrobes was all part of the fun.

“We coordinated everything about this week. So not to be matchy-matchy, but to blend, to pair it up well, and we usually do that,” Hendrix told PEOPLE days earlier at Warner Bros. Television Group’s 78th Primetime Emmy Awards Nominees Celebration in Los Angeles.
“We’re like two teenage girls,” she continued. “‘What are you wearing? Okay, what are you going to do? Where are we going to meet? Who are we going to talk to? We’re not going to talk to them. Okay, got it.’ That’s us.”
Hendrix, who competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2025, said their coordinating looks aren’t limited to awards shows. Walter, she noted, showed up to the ballroom “every single week” wearing the same color as her.

The two have remained close since playing romantic rivals Chessy and Meredith Blake in Disney’s 1998 remake of The Parent Trap, and their friendship has endured far beyond their days on set.
When asked how they’ve navigated disagreements over the years, Hendrix compared their dynamic to a seesaw.
“I think we’re always like a seesaw with each other. So when she’s hot, I’m cold. When I’m hot, she’s cold,” Hendrix said. “We each have our bursts, and then we’re also very quick to let them go because we know what’s going to set each other off. And so when it happens, it’s like we expect it, we weather it, and we move on.”
“Both of us were children in families where you had to know what was happening,” Walter added.

Their rules for getting through those moments? “Be vigilant,” “be empathetic” and “vibe check everything.”
“We can feel it when the other one is stressed out or they got too much going on, and they might pop,” Walter explained. “So we just try to help the roll-out.”
Both had plenty to celebrate at this year’s Emmys.
The season of Dancing with the Stars on which Hendrix competed earned five nominations, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program, while season 5 of Abbott Elementary, which stars Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, received seven nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series.
