Christina Applegate shared her first video following her months-long hospitalization via Instagram on Monday, Sept. 21.
In the clip, the Dead to Me alum, 54, sports a casual gray and black tank beneath a black printed hoodie, paired with jeans and a gold crescent moon necklace, posing and smiling for the camera. In the comments, several of her fellow stars shared well wishes.
“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day,” she captioned the video. “Love you and love to you all out there.”
“You are truly powerful,” Henry Winkler wrote, while Octavia Spencer and Andy Cohen commented fire emojis to compliment her new hair color.

Applegate first addressed reports of her hospitalization via Instagram in April, shortly following the release of her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes. She first thanked fans for their support and added, “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”
She continued at the time, “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”
In August, a source told PEOPLE that she was home from the hospital and “doing very well.”
Weeks later, she celebrated being home with a sweet Instagram post and a nod to her 15-year-old daughter Sadie Grace. “Meant to post this a while ago. My kid is so my kid hahah,” Applegate wrote alongside a photo of celebratory decorations including banner letters that read, “Yay, you’re home.”

Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021. The progressive disease damages the protective cover around nerves, called myelin, in the central nervous system, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It can cause muscle weakness, vision changes, numbness, memory loss and gastrointestinal issues.
