The two star together in the new thriller ‘Primetime’

Skyler Gisondo is reflecting on working with his “generous and collaborative” costar, Robert Pattinson.
The Primetime actor, 30, spoke with PEOPLE ahead of the film’s debut on Sept. 25, and dished on his time working with Pattinson, who portrays To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen. Gisondo, in turn, plays Dan Plumb or “Decoy Dan,” one of the show’s decoys who drew the alleged offender out.
Gisondo says Pattinson is “the most exciting actor to work with,” and describes him as “truly one of the greatest.” Also among his talents, Gisondo says, Pattinson goes into each day with a clear mission and works hard to bring it to fruition.

“You sort of, in your head, imagine like how many different ways it [a scene] could go and generally what the shape of it is going to be,” he continues. “And you learn very quickly, working with Rob, that you can’t plan for [working with him].”
“[Director] Lance Oppenheim said that he jumps off a cliff in every take and it certainly feels that way,” Gisondo adds. “And to be opposite somebody like that, it’s completely electrifying because it creates this atmosphere like anything could happen.”
Gisondo reveals that he grew up watching Pattinson in some of his favorite movies, like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (in which Pattinson portrayed the ill-fated Cedric Diggory) and the Twilight saga — the latter of which he is a self-described “mega” fan.
“I feel like I’ve been watching him, yeah, my entire life,” Gisondo says, adding, “I’ve just been a fan of Rob’s forever.”

Per the film’s synopsis, Primetime follows Hansen in 2006, as he “sets out to make television history” through To Catch a Predator.
