One of Hollywood’s most powerful agents is making a striking comment about his former work with Meghan Markle.
Ari Emanuel, the executive chairman of WME Group, was asked about Meghan, 45, in a new interview with The Times, which reported that he used to represent the Duchess of Sussex before the two “parted ways last year.”
Asked where he thinks Meghan’s career is heading, Emanuel, 65, replied bluntly: “Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that anymore.”
Despite Emanuel’s comments, WME confirms to PEOPLE that the agency continues to represent Meghan and Archewell. WME did not provide further clarification about Emanuel’s remarks or the circumstances surrounding the end of his work with Meghan.

PEOPLE reported last month that she was in talks for a role in the third season of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen, which would mark her most significant acting role since leaving Suits in 2018.
A source told PEOPLE that Meghan and Prince Harry had been discussing a potential return to acting for some time, even before The Gentlemen opportunity emerged, as Meghan continues to explore options.
Meghan signed with WME in April 2023, with Emanuel among the high-profile agents initially named to her team alongside Brad Slater and Jill Smoller. At the time, the agency was expected to focus on building out Meghan’s business ventures, including film and television production and brand partnerships, while also representing Archewell.
Emanuel’s personal involvement with Meghan appears to have been relatively short-lived. Variety reported earlier this year that Emanuel and Slater had dropped off her account within months of her signing, although WME continued to represent the Duchess and Archewell Productions.

Following Variety’s March 2026 report, Meghan and Harry, 42, announced in August they would be relocating back to the U.K. The family arrived in the U.K. on Aug. 26, just a week after PEOPLE revealed their move.
“They are happy to be back,” a source close to Harry and Meghan recently told PEOPLE. The insider explained that settling the children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, “has been, and remains, their focus.”
“Everything else will fall into place when the time is right,” the source said. “There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it’s been really busy getting the kids settled,” adding, “Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being.”
