Kelly Clarkson’s son Remy had a hilarious comment for his mom after he went viral for showing off his singing voice.
The world was treated to the 8-year-old’s powerhouse vocals in November when a video of him singing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” on The Kelly Clarkson Show racked up over a million views.
In a new segment from the “Since U Been Gone” singer’s eponymous talk show, released on Wednesday, Jan. 8, Clarkson, 42, asked her son how he felt about his clip going viral.

“Yeah, how much views did I get again?” Remy cheekily replied, prompting Clarkson and the studio audience to burst into laughter.
“I’m gonna tell you how it went down,” recounted Clarkson to the audience. “I said, ‘Man, buddy, you’ve got over a million views on that I think.’”
“He goes, ‘Do you get that many views?’ ” she continued. “I was like, ‘Calm down — and not often.’”
The November clip wasn’t the first time young Remy performed with his mom: Back in August 2023, when he was only 7, the Grammy winner welcomed him on stage during a concert date at Vegas’ Planet Hollywood to dance backup as she sang her 2017 song “Whole Lotta Woman.”
“Give it up for Remy B!” Clarkson yelled to the audience after they concluded the performance and as the crowd began to chant Remy’s name. Her daughter River came out later in the show for a duet of “Heartbeat Song” as well.
Catching up with PEOPLE last year for her cover story, the star revealed that the surprise appearances were her children’s suggestion: “They were a little nervous, but it was their idea, not mine.”
“I was like, ‘I feel like how you’re looking at me is how you watch Spider-Man,’ ” Clarkson told PEOPLE, describing how it felt to have her kids watching her perform. “It caught me completely off guard, and it was the most magical moment because they were so happy and at ease. They were just in awe.”
The American Idol champion shares her two young ones with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, from whom she divorced in 2020 after seven years of marriage.
Following her move to New York City with her children in 2023 as a single mom, she has settled into life in the Big Apple — balancing motherhood with her talk show hosting duties.
“Kelly kind of lives in a bubble. She’s all about the kids and work,” a source told PEOPLE in December. “She loves being a mom. Her kids have been clear that they don’t want her to date, so she’s not.”
“She feels very satisfied with life as it is. She knows as the kids get older, dating will be easier. This is not anything she misses at the moment,” the source added.
