The Game Reveals He’s Been Assisting Firefighters on the Ground in L.A.: ‘Everybody Needs Everybody’

The Game is doing his part to help residents and first responders amid the devastating L.A. fires.

In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Jan. 12, the rapper — whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor — shared that he has been pitching in with on-the-ground relief efforts where he can, including handing out basic necessities to exhausted firefighters and rescuing lost and abandoned pets.

“We came out here this morning with blankets, pillows, coffee, bananas, water — just anything we can, you know, bring to help these firemen out here on the wake-up, man,” said The Game, 45, while looking directly into the camera. “They’re doing big, amazing things here.”

The “California Vacation” singer then shared that he and his team were headed to Altadena — one of the L.A. neighborhoods impacted by the fires — to “rescue some animals” and “drop them off at the shelter.”

“Then we’re gonna hit the other side of town and probably pull up on a few of the homies doing work over there,” he added.

“It’s just a time where everybody needs everybody, you know?” he continued.

“It’s like one of those times in America where everybody just needs to hone in on what’s going on here and do anything that you can to help,” he concluded, before sharing that he would also be posting ways for people outside of L.A. to help those affected by the disaster.

In the post’s caption, the Compton native wrote that rescue workers “keep thanking me for being here,” noting that “in my mind I’m like, ‘No, THANK YOU!!!’ “

“I am here for Los Angeles & I will always be here to do my part,” he added.

The Game is among a number of celebrities who have stepped up to help their communities since the fires broke out. Jennifer Garner was spotted helping feed firefighters, and Halle Barry, shared that she is donating her “entire closet” to people in need and is also working with fellow actress Sharon Stone to ensure that those who have lost everything receive basic essentials.

Multiple fires have been raging in L.A. County since Tuesday, Jan. 7. Over 10,000 properties have been destroyed and over 105,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, CNN reports. There are 24 reported deaths as of Jan. 12, per the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
