Audrey Hepburn not only starred in countless romance movies, but she also had several high-profile relationships.
Before her breakout role in 1953’s Roman Holiday, Hepburn was engaged to industrialist James Hanson whom she met while living in London. However, as Hepburn’s career grew, she and Hanson struggled in their relationship.
Hepburn ultimately called off their nuptials and famously stated, “When I get married, I want to be really married.”
Following her romance with Hanson, Hepburn moved on with first husband Mel Ferrer. The couple tied the knot in 1954. Six years later, they welcomed son Sean Hepburn Ferrer. After 14 years of marriage, Hepburn and Ferrer called it quits.
Hepburn wouldn’t wed again until she met Andrea Dotti. The twosome tied the knot in 1969 and they welcomed son Luca the following year. Dotti and Hepburn split in 1982 after 12 years of marriage.
Before her death in January 1993, Hepburn found one last chance at love with partner Robert Wolders. The couple remained together for the rest of her life after the actress lost her battle with cancer.
