Benson Boone’s style star status is rising just as quickly as his music on the charts.
The singer-songwriter, 22, had a brief stint on season 19 of American Idol in 2021 but rose to fame thanks to his popular TikTok videos. He released his debut studio album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, in 2024 and that same year, opened for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London.
Along the way, his bold style choices have helped make him a bonafide superstar, though he didn’t always take fashion risks. In the early days of his career he kept things more low-key with simple sneakers and t-shirts, but as his fame skyrocketed Boone started to get more playful.
At the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, the musician appeared in all-white ensemble consisting of a sheer floral shirt and trousers, reminiscent of Harry Styles’ signature, feminine-leaning style. Boone also started going shirtless both on and off stage, often opting for plunging necklines when he does wear shirts.
The 2025 Grammys marked a major style moment for Boone. On the red carpet, the best new artist nominee wore a charcoal suit and matching shirt with another plunging neckline and during his performance, donned a skin-tight baby blue jumpsuit that bared his chest.
At the end of the performance, eagle-eyed fans noticed Boone cheekily pulling the crotch of his pants down. In an Instagram Stories post later that night, the musician shared a close-up selfie as well as an apology.
“Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight that thing was aggressively restricting in certain areas,” he wrote over the photo. On Tuesday, Feb. 4, he shared a TikTok of himself wearing the jumpsuit around his house along with the caption, “I’m not taking it off (it hurts).”

Boone first graced TV screens during season 19 of American Idol in 2021, where he auditioned with “Punchline” by Aidan Martin in a simple T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. The casual outfit didn’t stop him from making an impression on the judges, all of whom voted “yes” to sending him to the Hollywood round.
Low Key Looks
In September 2022, Boone kept his laid-back style streak going during a visit to the SiriusXM Studios in New York City. He opted for a white graphic tee, olive trousers and checkered sneakers.
Getting Playful
Boone started to mix things up at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards. For a monochromatic look, the singer wore a sheer flora-patterned white shirt and white trousers, adding a pair of white sunglasses to match.
Canadian Tuxedo
In 2023, Boone took the stage in a denim vest which he teamed with jeans in a darker wash for a casual-cool take on the Canadian tuexedo.
A Trendy Hue
Butter yellow emerged as a major fashion trend in 2024, and Boone was not immune. He appeared at Audacy’s 11th Annual We Can Survive in New Jersey in a jumpsuit in the bright hue, the top of which was unbuttoned all the way.
Fuzzy
Boone opted for a fuzzy white jacket — going sans shirt — and white jeans while performing at the 2024 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball. For a festive touch, he added a glittery green belt.
Retro Style
At the 2024 Variety Hitmakers Brunch, Boone leaned into a retro-inspired look in a leather jacket with floral button details and a pair of crisp white trousers. He added aviator sunglasses and black shoes.
Grammys Chic
Nominated for best new artist, Boone walked the 2025 Grammys red carpet in a charcoal suit and matching shirt underneath (featuring a plunging neckline, of course).
A Viral Performance Look
