Gretchen Mol is prepared for anything.
The Millers in Marriage actress, 52, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about everything she stores inside her Claire V cheetah-print bag and Chanel baguette wallet.
As she started taking the contents out of her spotted purse, Mol gushed to Us that her friend gifted her the design. “It’s not the most practical bag because it doesn’t have a strap,” she said about the large clutch, noting it’s still been her go-to as of late. Inside the accessory, she carries makeup, her wallet — which husband Tod Williams gave her a few years ago — hair ties and more.
While she mostly has the necessities, Mol also carried a sentimental picture of her mom with her, until she felt the photo was not being “protected” properly in her purse. “My mom passed away,” she told Us. “So it was a nice little thing to have.”

Mol’s black Chanel Baguette wallet — which is “so packed that it’s not closing” — is full of cash, Wards Gardening Center cards, both her old driver’s permit and license, a COVID vaccination card, cards to Fishers Island Library and Saks Fifth Avenue, her ski pass and her SAG-Aftra Health Insurance.
“It is so little and cute, my husband got me [this] as a present years ago,” Mol said, showing off the quilted wallet. “And it’s still giving. It makes me happy and you don’t need to have everything Chanel.”
A Book
Mol told Us she recently finished Emma Klein’s The Guest, which kept her on the edge of her seat.
Makeup
Mol is prepared with on-the-go glam, thanks to her Glow Recipe Niacinamide Dewy Flush blush, which her friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin gave her, Saie foundation and Neutrogena makeup remover. The actress also keeps an emergency touch-up bag of products that a “lovely” makeup artist gifted her ahead of the Golden Globes.

The kit came with lipstick, a brush and Laura Mercier setting powder. “That’s all you really need,” Mol said. “I just thought it was so cute.”
Mol also stores “a lot” of hair ties in her bag, which her daughter, Winter, is always asking to borrow.
Hydration Necessities
“I always try to have my big yellow Yeti water bottle,” Mol told Us, noting she occasionally fills it up with Liquid IV.
Pain Relievers
Mol doesn’t go anywhere without Advil, Asper Cream or Aquaphor.
