Ciara Shares the Lessons She Wants to Instill in Her Daughters Sienna, 7, and Amora, 15 Months: ‘They’re Not Limited’

Ciara is sharing the wisdom she hopes to impart in her two daughters.

The singer, 39, spoke with Kindred by Parents for their new cover story and opened up about the lessons she hopes to instill in her two daughters Sienna, 7, and Amora, 15 months. Ciara shares her daughters and sons Future, 10, and Win, 4, with husband Russell Wilson.

“I always want my girls to feel valued, know that they can create their own self-worth, they’re in control of themselves and where they can [go] in life,” Ciara says. “I want my girls to know that they’re not limited by their gender or the color of their skin.”

Elsewhere in the article, Ciara reiterated that she wants her daughters to know that they are in control of themselves.

“I need to remind my girls to know when you are in the full essence of your honey and your sweetness, but also being firm and clear, you can make a lot happen in that space,” she explains.

Back in February, Ciara was interviewed by Bustle for “The Little Things” issue and opened up about the quick transition back to touring after welcoming her daughter Amora in December 2023. Just a few months after she had her baby girl, Ciara was training and rehearsing to join Missy Elliott on tour.

“That was a little out-of-body for me,” she admitted to the outlet. “It’s not the first time I’ve had to do this. I’ve been there before, but your body changes as you get older. I’m trying to embrace every step.”

Ciara said that in the past, “I would’ve probably been so hard on myself because I hadn’t made it back to where I was, post-baby.”

But now, she’s focused on a more positive outlook. “I also was kind of loving this fourth-baby version of me,” she said. “My baby definitely put a little bit more on my hips and there is, as Russell says, ‘more to grab on.'”

“I want to lean up a little bit more, tone up more, and he’s like, ‘Don’t get crazy,’ ” Ciara joked.
