It’s been 10 years since Tamron Hall hosted a Sister Wives reunion — and there is still one question she wished she’d asked the reality stars.
“I never asked them, ‘If they could have him without the other wives, would they?’” Hall, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, April 21, referring to the prospect of Kody Brown’s then-wives being monogamous with the patriarch.
Hall recalled, “We discussed the benefits of being a sister and wife sharing responsibilities, for example, but I never asked, ‘If you could have him to yourself, would you?’”
The journalist’s unasked question is even more interesting now that Kody, 56, is in a monogamous relationship with fourth wife Robyn Brown after his first three wives left him. Hall last interviewed the Sister Wives stars during the season 9 reunion, which aired in 2015.

Tamron Hall will not forget what she saw and felt while hosting the Sister Wives reunion shows. During a recent interview with Meri Brown, Hall, 54, shared some behind-the-scenes details about her experience filming with Kody Brown and his wives. “What is your relationship like with Robyn,” Hall asked Meri, 54, on the Wednesday, April […]
Six years later, second wife Christine Brown announced in November 2021 that she left Kody after more than 20 years of marriage. Third wife Janelle Brown announced her separation from the Wyoming native in December 2022. Kody and his first wife, Meri Brown, released a joint statement about their split in January 2023.
While it’s been a decade since Hall has crossed paths with the Sister Wives cast, she stands by what she did and didn’t do with them on camera.

Sister Wives premiered in 2010 and after more than a decade of ups, downs, trials and tribulations, fans are still fascinated by Kody Brown and his plural family — even if he’s now only married to one woman. At its inception, the TLC series followed Kody and his three wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, […]
“I don’t think I ever went too far. I believe when you go on a reality show, and you reveal your life that puts so much out there on the table,” Hall told Us. “I know sometimes people will say I’m asking what the audience wants to know. There are lines for me.”
She explained that even if the audience wants to “know something particular about [the] children, I won’t cross that line.”
Hall added that although “their parents signed up for the show; they did not, and for me, that’s a line in the sand.” (Kody welcomed six children with both Christine, 53, and Janelle, 55, before their splits. He shares one child with Meri, 54, and two with Robyn, 46. Kody also adopted Robyn’s three eldest children from her first marriage after they legally wed in 2014.)
Earlier this month, Hall made headlines when she claimed on her Tamron Hall talk show that she was “told not to come back” as the Sister Wives tell-all host because “some people thought that the questions were too tough that I was asking.” (Us previously reached out to TLC for comment.)
Hall was the host for seasons 6 through 9’s reunions when the Brown family’s polygamous lifestyle was experiencing many ebbs and flows. Despite claiming she was booted by the network, Hall exclusively told Us on Monday that she had an overall “incredible experience” and enjoyed getting to know the family.
“Looking at where things are now, I feel some of the questions I asked were just and fair as we see Meri now on her next chapter,” Hall added, seemingly referring to her past remarks about how Meri legally divorcing Kody so he could marry Robyn and adopt her children affected their own relationship.

Kody Brown‘s relationship with Robyn Brown has been scrutinized since she joined his plural family — and things are no less “awkward” now that she’s his last remaining wife. During the Sunday, October 8, episode of Sister Wives, the 54-year-old patriarch opened up about his family’s changing dynamic after his split from Christine Brown and […]
Hall further explained to Us that she is “happy” to see that Kody, Meri, Janelle and Robyn were finally able to sell their Coyote Pass property in Arizona. (The land reportedly sold earlier this year for $1.5 million.)
“Getting to know Meri I could see the pain surrounding this. They say the No. 1 reason people divorce is financial. Imagine it multiple times over,” Hall said.
Looking back, Hall told Us that she thinks Meri “deserves respect” because she was Kody’s first wife. “My heart also went out to her because I feel that some people saw her as a lesser wife because she did not have multiple children,” she concluded.
Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET. Tamron Hall airs weekdays. (Check your local listings for times.)
