Tom Schwartz Launches His Podcast With the 1st Episode Reuniting Him With Ex-Wife Katie Maloney (Exclusive)

Tom Schwartz is sitting down for a candid conversation with ex-wife Katie Maloney during the debut episode of his new podcast.

Us Weekly can exclusively reveal that Schwartz’s “Detox Retox” podcast, which launches on PodcastOne Tuesday, April 22, will feature Maloney, 38, as his first guest.

“It was so nice catching up with Katie at her new place, just chilling with the dogs. We cracked open a bottle of Witches of Weho Pinot Noir to reflect on some vintage Vanderpump Rules memories,” Schwartz, 42, told Us about the podcast, that has original scoring produced by Mason Mullins. “I’m so happy to see her happy. I’ll always cherish the time we had together — truly one of the most unique experiences two people could share.”

Maloney hinted at what Bravo fans can expect, telling Us, “I enjoyed sipping on some witches of Weho wine. Talking about VPR days, a light roast in the mix and where we are today.”

Showing it all. Since Vanderpump Rules debuted on Bravo in 2013, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz have been candid about their road to marriage. The couple originally met two years before their romance was documented on screen. At the time, Schwartz showed up to a group event with another date instead of Maloney. “He had […]

The “Detox Retox” podcast is one of the newest ventures from the Vanderpump Rules cast. According to Schwartz, it is also a “new chapter” for him personally.

“I’m excited to be taking people along for this new ride. This new era is about growth, good vibes and maybe a little mischief,” he teased. “We’ll explore self-improvement and indulge in life’s pleasures — mindfully, of course. And if we fall apart a bit? That’s OK too.”

Schwartz noted that the priority with the podcast “isn’t about toxicity” — but joy.

“It’s not self-destructive or mindless. It’s cheat day energy. Treat yourself energy. Indulge a little, because we all deserve to find that extraordinary balance,” he continued. “There will be more emphasis on detox, nurturing yourself emotionally, physically and spiritually.”

Schwartz concluded: “This is a true passion project. We’ll kick things off with some of my fabulous friends from the reality TV world —it’s my wheelhouse — then branch out to conversations with scholars, scientists, metaphysical minds and everyday humans with extraordinary stories. A pursuit of harmony, happiness and a little enlightenment. Lots of heart. Lots of soul.”

Before reuniting on the “Detox Retox” podcast, Maloney and Schwartz documented their ups and downs on Vanderpump Rules. The former couple were married for six years before their 2022 divorce. After weathering their new normal as exes on screen, Maloney and Schwartz have since moved on from the show in the wake of a major cast overhaul.

“I had made a decision months ago after this past season. I needed to move on with my life,” Maloney explained on an episode of her “Disrespectfully” podcast in December 2024. “I had talked to our producers about it and I told them my decision on that. I felt personally ready to move on from the show. I felt like my life and where I was at was moving in a different direction. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, I was prepared to move on from the show.”

When viewers were introduced to staff at Lisa Vanderpump‘s restaurant during Vanderpump Rules‘ 2013 premiere, it was clear everyone was intertwined in one another’s love lives. From Stassi Schroeder‘s rocky relationship with Jax Taylor, which took a turn when he hooked up with her best friend Kristen Doute, to Peter Madrigal’s casual connections to several […]

Maloney said she was ready for something new. “It had been a long time. I lived many lives and went through so much on that show,” she continued. “It just got to a point where I don’t know that I can live and grow and be the version of myself I want to be on this show any longer.”

Schwartz, for his part, has made appearances on The Valley as he looks ahead to his next projects.

“We got 11 seasons. That’s insane. I’m so grateful for that. So I have nothing to gripe or complain about. It was probably 11 of the best years of my life. I got to travel the world. And yeah, man, it was exhilarating,” Schwartz told Us the same month about how he felt “nostalgic” and “sentimental” since news broke that he wasn’t coming back for season 12, adding, “I still talk to everyone — mostly everybody. Everyone’s thriving, everyone’s doing their thing.”
