Gizelle Bryant’s Kids Turn Off Eminem When He Comes on the Radio Due to His Lawsuit with Their Mom (Exclusive)

Gizelle Bryant and her kids have this one rule when it comes to music!

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Love Hotel Premiere Screening at a private residence in Bel-Air Sunday, April 27, the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star says Slim Shady is one person you will never hear played in her car or her home.

“Oh my God, no. And it’s funny, because if it comes on the radio, in the car, my kids would be like, ‘That’s Eminem. Turn it,’ ” Bryant tells PEOPLE. “My kids are on top of it. They know. No, no Eminem for us.”

The Bravo personality is a mom to three daughters: Grace, 20, and twins Angel and Adore, 19.

Bryant’s feud with the 15-time Grammy winner, 52, stems from a December 2023 lawsuit involving a trademark dispute regarding Bryant and her former RHOP cast member Robyn Dixon naming their podcast Reasonably Shady, plus merchandise associated with the show, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Mathers III) released The Slim Shady LP in 1999, and the nickname has followed him ever since.

The 2024 release of his album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), reignited an interest in their “shady” feud.

“I find it to be foolishness. I want it to be over, for sure,” Byant tells PEOPLE of their ongoing legal proceedings.

However, despite the fact that their podcast could face consequences for its title, the mother of three says things are going great for her and her fellow Green-Eyed Bandit.

Reasonably Shady, it’s still up and running,” she says of the podcast, adding, “And we’re like 10 million downloads strong in our fifth season.”

Byant tells PEOPLE, “The Eminem lawsuit is still going. We’re at the tail end, but you have to understand, it’s like a Patent and Trade issue, and they have their own timeline for when it’s over. So we’re on their timeline.”

She adds, “Next step is for him to be deposed. And so, we’ll see what happens from there.”

Additionally, the reality star says while she and her kids aren’t fans of Eminem, his longtime collaborator Dr. Dre is okay in their book.

Mathers previously requested a protective order against Bryant and Dixon, 46, citing in the filing that it would be “unduly burdensome” for him to be deposed himself due to his “limited knowledge of the subjects at issue.”

At the time, his manager Paul Rosenberg was willing to be deposed, with the filing stating that Eminem “is removed from the daily activities and details that comprise the use and promotion of” his SHADY marks, even though he is “the listed owner and signatory of the asserted trademark registrations.”

However, in September 2024, In Touch Weekly reported that Bryant and Dixon’s attorneys argued: “Mr. Mathers’ deposition is critical in determining ownership, validity of rights, state of mind that pertains to fame, along with actual confusion issues, and current use.”
