JoJo Siwa is not looking for another romantic relationship following her split from Kath Ebbs.
“I’m so happy where I’m at right now that I just want to stay here,” Siwa, 21, shared during an appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast, released on Wednesday, April 30. “Whatever that means, whatever this is, I’m great here.”
Siwa’s candid response comes after Ebbs, 27, revealed their split from the star in a TikTok video on Saturday, April 26. Ebbs hinted that the breakup came after Siwa formed a close friendship with Love Island alum Chris Hughes while they both appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
Siwa shared her side of the story during a public appearance on Monday, April 28. However, her appearance on Nick Viall’s podcast allowed for more details to emerge — and no, Hughes was not the cause of Siwa’s split from Ebbs.
“Obviously, a lot of people think that Chris has something to do with it,” she said on Wednesday. “Chris does not have absolutely anything to do with it. Chris and I are friends. We have a very, very great friendship.”

The Turning Point in Her Friendship With Chris Hughes
While they were filming Big Brother UK, Siwa recalled having a heart-to-heart with Hughes, which became the “perfect recipe to make a best friend.”
Essentially, both Siwa and Hughes bonded over their consistent energy levels and feeling “drained” because of the pressure to be “always on” while filming the show.
“That was a moment that I really realized like, ‘Oh, we’re similar,’” Siwa said. “That was a moment when I realized like, ‘Oh, I understand him very well.’ I mean, he was there for me in my lowest lows in the house.”
The Chris Hughes Rumors
Because Siwa was sequestered from the outside world in the Big Brother UK house, she had “not a clue” that there were romance rumors about her and Hughes.
“You have no clue what’s going on in the outside world,” Siwa said. “I asked the diary room every single day, ‘Has Katy Perry made it back from outer space?’ That’s what I cared about.”
A Request From Her Ex
Siwa initially attempted to honor Ebbs’ request not to talk about them.
“Out of respect for another human in this situation, they have asked to not speak about it, for me to not speak about them,” Siwa said. “I told them, I said, ‘Look, that’s going to make me seem like I am avoidant of the situation.’ I’m not avoidant of the situation.”
What Actually Happened With Kath Ebbs
Siwa hinted that she was unhappy in her relationship with Ebbs, which she realized in the Big Brother UK house. She also made it clear that the situation with Ebbs and her friendship with Hughes were “completely unrelated” situations.
Ebbs — in their 13-minute-long video — said that the breakup happened at the Big Brother UK wrap party. Siwa, however, said “that’s not entirely the story.” Yes, Ebbs decided to skip out on the party, and Siwa was fine with it. Eventually, Ebbs changed their mind and went to the wrap party, Siwa said.
Siwa further claimed that Ebbs had a “strange” request upon attending the party. So, they had a conversation.
“All of a sudden, we’re at the wrap party for Big Brother. I’m getting cussed out,” Siwa recalled. “I understand [why] they’re angry and [why] they’re coming at me. But I also keep reiterating, like, I’m not in a place to talk.”

Ebbs apparently asked if Siwa wanted to “end things,” and the reality star didn’t hold back.
“I said, ‘If you ask me tomorrow, I don’t know my answer. If you ask me right now, my answer is yes,’” Siwa recalled. “That, obviously, was taken as yes.”
Reacting to Kath Ebbs’ Take on the Breakup
“Kath posted a video basically alluding to Chris and I are the reasons that we broke up. That’s not the case. That is not the truth,” Siwa said. “And they know that and I know that.”
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Siwa said there were “so many reasons” why she and Ebbs split, but Hughes “was not one of them.”
“I understand Chris and I are very tight. We have this very beautiful bond, this very beautiful connection, but don’t paint it out to look like I cheated on you with him because I did not,” Siwa said. “I will stand on that ground.”
The Truth About Chris
Siwa wishes she could explain the relationship she has with Hughes other than just saying they’re close.
“People can see that whatever it is, is special,” she said. “I have so many people in my life that have come into my life, and I’ve gone, oh, they’re a different person in my life and they’re meant to be here, and he is a layer of that and a level of that. I don’t want to spend time, effort, energy on trying to convince somebody of something. It’s not worth it.”
