3 Underrated Netflix Shows to Watch This Weekend (May 2-4)

If you subscribe to Netflix for its variety of programming, then you won’t be disappointed by its selection of shows in the first weekend of May.

Netflix has kicked off the month with an eclectic group that includes a chilling sci-fi drama and a comedy series loaded with talent.

To help you make your viewing plans, Watch With Us has selected the three underrated Netflix shows you should watch this weekend.

In addition to the two new Netflix original series, our third pick for the week is an exceptionally well-made documentary on loan from ESPN.

‘The Eternaut’ (2025)

The Eternaut is an Argentine TV series based on a sci-fi comic that was published in 1957. But the premise is something that will play very well for fans of The Walking Dead and The Last of Us. During a normal summer day in Buenos Aires, Juan Salvo (Ricardo Darín) and his friends Ruso (Claudio Martinez Bel), Omar (Ariel Staltari), Alfredo Favalli (Cesar Troncoso), Lucas (Marcelo Subiotto), Ana (Andrea Pietra) and Inga (Oriana Cardenas) are having a good time when a sudden snowfall covers the city and kills any human it makes contact with.

Because this group was lucky enough to be on the inside during the snowfall, they may be among the only survivors in the city. Juan improvises creating a protective suit so he can look for his ex-wife Elena (Carla Peterson) and their daughter Clara (Mora Fisz), who are somewhere in the city. It may be a one-way trip for Juan, and it’s also quite likely that the snowfall was a deliberate attack against humanity by an unknown enemy.

The Eternaut is streaming on Netflix.

‘The Four Seasons’ (2025)

There’s some serious comedic firepower assembled for Netflix’s remake of The Four Seasons. Tina Fey co-wrote the series and stars alongside Will Forte, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Marco Calvani as a group of college friends who have reunited for a special occasion.

All six friends are paired up as couples, but Nick (Carell) is planning to leave his wife, Anne (Kenney-Silver), after spending 25 years together. Claude (Calvani) is hiding his own secret about his husband, Danny (Domingo), and the remaining couple, Kate (Fey) and Jack (Forte), are inadvertently privy to both. It’s a messy situation that only gets more awkward when Anne reaffirms her commitment to Nick.

‘O.J. Made in America’ (2016)

There aren’t many true crime stories that play out in full view of the public, but the saga of O.J. Simpson transfixed America in the ’90s. In 1994, Simpson’s wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were murdered. Simpson subsequently faced double murder charges in what was dubbed “the trial of the century,” but it was more like a media circus than a trial.

ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 team put together O.J. Made in America as a multi-part miniseries that tracks his rise to fame as a football player and actor before his infamy as an accused murderer. The miniseries even chronicles Simpson’s life after the trial, and the subsequent legal issues that followed him for the rest of his life.
