Tinx Wants to Make Readers ‘Nice and Horny’ This Summer With Debut Novel ‘Hotter in the Hamptons’ (Exclusive)

Social media sensation Tinx wants her followers to feel some type of way while reading her debut novel Hotter in the Hamptons this summer.

“My vision is that everybody’s gonna be by the pool, sipping rosé, reading this book,” the 34-year-old influencer, real name Christina Najjar, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting Hotter in the Hamptons. “I want everyone to be nice and horny this summer. That was my thought process.”

The book — out Tuesday, May 6 — follows protagonist, fashion influencer Lola Fine, who escapes to the Hamptons after an Instagram Live snafu nearly ruins her career — and relationship with her seemingly perfect boyfriend.

“I think that a lot of people lose themself in relationships — especially if they have a great relationship like [Lola] does at the beginning,” she explained. “I wanted to really explore that theme through someone who wasn’t a girl’s girl, who didn’t have a lot of close friends. Obviously, Ryan is her best friend, but she doesn’t have a gang of girls that she can lean on. I wanted to exemplify what can happen if you are one of those people who just always gets into a relationship and, kind of, lose yourself.”

Lola’s journey to self-acceptance includes an unexpected fling with Aly Ray Carter, the journalist whose exposé took her down. Tinx tells Us that she used an “incredible queer collaborator” to get the story right.

“Getting a second chance is an incredible thing. Sometimes it takes being canceled to, to wake up and realize, ‘Who are the people who have my back? What really matters in this crazy life?’ That was definitely a theme I wanted to explore,” Tinx shared, noting that she can relate to Lola in that way. (Hotter in the Hamptons is already in the process of being adapted by Sara and Erin Foster.)

However, Tinx explained to Us that she wanted to write a character who is the complete opposite from herself.

“I knew from the beginning, when I was dreaming her up, that she was going to be complicated. I love complicated female main characters. None of us are perfect,” Tinx explained. “She’s very flawed. She’s flawed in a different way than me and that was really important for me. … There’s a lot of me in there, but it’s really not about me.”

When it came to writing the perfect beach read, Tinx thought about her favorite romance novels (naming Pucking Around by Emily Rath as a standout) and really leaned into the spice.

“I always go back to: ‘Let me create something that I want to consume,’” Tinx said. “Whether it’s a TikTok, whether it’s a podcast, whether it’s a book.”

Hotter in the Hamptons is out now.
