Katelynn Ordone Honors 2-Year-Old Son Preston ‘Okay Baby’ 1 Day Before 1st Mother’s Day Without Him

Influencer Katelynn Ordone is continuing to honor the memory of her and husband Jaelan Ordone’s son, Preston, after his death at age 2.

“Yesterday made 2 weeks that you’ve been gone and I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you’re not here with me anymore. I feel like I’ve been trapped in the world’s worst nightmare for 2 weeks that I can’t wake up from,” Katelynn wrote via Instagram on Saturday, May 10, one day before her first mother’s day without her son.

“Me, daddy, and Paisley miss you so much. It’s not the same without you,” she continued. “I often find myself looking for you. I’m so used to having to watch you like a hawk to make sure you don’t do anything crazy. Now, I don’t know what to do with myself. I’ve been trying so hard to distract myself from the pain of missing you but it doesn’t work.”

Katelynn noted that she’s “supposed to be doing bed time” with Preston, getting him ready for a bath, making a “sippy cup with warm milk” — which she said they “spoiled” him by warming it every time — brushing his teeth and cuddling with him until he fell asleep.

“I’m not supposed to be laying in bed, crying, while trying to pick out an urn for you. I miss you so much it hurts,” she wrote. “You brought joy to millions of people in the short amount of time you were here on earth with us. There wasn’t a day that went by that you didn’t make us laugh.”

“I don’t understand why God would take you from me… but l’m choosing to trust him with you. I’m choosing to thank him for the time he gave me with you. It’s a choice I have to wake up every day and continue to choose, and it’s not an easy choice to make because I’d rather you here with me,” she continued. “But I know being with God is the safest place you could be & I know I will be there with you someday too.”

Katelynn shared a series of photos of Preston through the years, including him celebrating his first birthday at a baseball field and husband Jaelan smiling as he held his son in the delivery room.

“There will never be enough words to express my heart ache and how much I miss you but the one thing that gives me peace is knowing that this wasn’t a goodbye, this was a see you later & I can’t wait to see you again baby boy,” she concluded.

Preston and the Ordone family rose to fame online in 2024, where he was lovingly dubbed the “Okay Baby.” In April, family friends shared that he died in a single-vehicle car crash. Both his parents were in the car at the time of the accident and sustained injuries, while 7-year-old sister Paisley was at school.

The Louisiana State Police addressed the accident via Facebook that month, sharing that they are conducting an investigation which included a routine toxicology test of the driver for analysis. Authorities reported that both the driver and front passenger of the vehicle were “properly restrained,” while Preston was “seated in the rear, but improperly restrained in a child safety seat.”

Grandfather Glen Norris went on to dispute the Louisiana State Police’s claims, telling Nola.com that he spoke with the witness and alleged that the toddler was properly restrained. Later that month, Katelynn shared in an emotional Instagram video that she had been discharged from the hospital, while Jaelan remained in the hospital.

In May, Katelynn shared that the family is honoring Preston with a flower memorial at Glory Church in Slidell, Louisiana. The set-up included an oversized pair of overalls covered in moss and flowers, alongside a collage of photos of Preston and a book for loved ones to write a message for the family.
