Lala Kent Gives Update on ‘Amicable’ Coparenting Relationship With ‘Baby Daddy’ Randall Emmett

Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent is getting real about dealing with “baby daddy” Randall Emmett.

“We have been battling for many years and we finally got all of our ducks in a row and put the custody battle to bed. I’m home base for my child and we have structure,” Kent, 34, explained during a Monday, May 12, appearance on “The Morning After” podcast. “There’s bedtime and routine, and he just flies by the seat of his pants.”

Kent admitted she “tries to be chill” with Emmett, 54, but he recently had their 4-year-old daughter Ocean, on a late-night flight when she had school the next day. (Kent is also the mother of Sosa, 8 months, whom she shares with a sperm donor. Emmett shares daughters London, 15, and Rylee, 11, with ex-wife Ambyr Childers.)

“I’m like, ‘Can we just get it together for five minutes?’” Kent said. “We’re all good. We’re still all good but I’m like, ‘You got me revved up.’”

During Monday’s podcast, Kent said that — despite this recent incident — she and Emmett have become “amicable” in their coparenting relationship.

“I can call him and be like, ‘She’s acting out,” Kent said. “‘Listen to your dad on the phone, we’re communicating you will not hustle both households.’”

Kent met Emmett in 2015 and started dating, but didn’t take their relationship public until 2018. He proposed that same year and they welcomed daughter Ocean in 2021. Us Weekly confirmed in November 2022 that Kent and Emmett had split. Their custody battle over Ocean came to an end this past March. (Kent accused Emmett of cheating on her with multiple women leading to their breakup, but this has not been confirmed.)

“The custody battle is over. It’s officially ended,” Kent confirmed in an Amazon Live at the time. “We’re done with it, so there’s my tea for the day.”

The Vanderpump Rules alum said that this legal battle “has weighed on [her] heart and soul” but didn’t share any explicit details of their agreement.

“After over three years, we have signed an agreement that is best for our daughter, Ocean. So I’m very, very happy about that,” she added. “I’m sure it’s been the same for my ex, and I’m just so happy that we were able to get to a good place for the well-being of our kid.”

Monday’s podcast wasn’t the first time that Kent offered a positive update on her and Emmett’s coparenting relationship.

“We have come to a place where, it’s like, we have one thing in common and that is this child and what is best for her and you have productive conversations,” Kent said during a November 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “It’s not always golden. I’m, like, a really fun ride, you know, I’ll take you on a rollercoaster. One day we’re good and then the next day he pisses me off. And It’s all good. We always come back to Ocean and her wellbeing.”
