Love comes in all shapes and sizes — and can cross borders and country lines — which is highlighted by 90 Day Fiancé and its more than 25 spinoff series.
The TLC reality show premiered in 2014, documenting the unique 90 Day Fiancé (K-1) visa process that allows overseas engaged individuals to travel to the United States to live with their partners for the first time.
On the series, which entered its 11th season in 2025, the couples have just 90 days to decide if they’ll get married or go back to their home country.
“These were people from all walks of life and all states who started talking to people online and fell in love,” executive producer Matt Sharp recalled to Glamour in February 2020 of what inspired the concept. “We discovered that once people found [others] abroad and traveled to meet them, they would then propose. The most interesting part of all, to us, was the K-1 visa process. … The second they hit U.S. soil, there’s a ticking clock.”
Sharp was not alone in his intrigue. The 90 Day Fiancé series sparked a massive fan base for the network and led to successful spinoffs including 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and, in 2025, the franchise’s first dating competition: 90 Day: Hunt for Love.
